I stepped onto a glowing platform… and everything changed.

Suddenly, I wasn’t human anymore.

I was a creampuff fox.

I stood in a magical forest filled with soft white trees and floating sparkles. All around me were creampuff foxes with fluffy tails and bright wings. I felt happier than I had ever felt before.

“Hello,” someone said.

A fox with cookie-colored fur smiled at me. “I’ll tell you my name if you tell me yours.”

“My name is Stonemover,” I said proudly.

He nodded. “I’m Cookie.”

Prologue

CHAPTER 1

Cookie leaned closer. “Whatever you do, do NOT mess with humans.”

“Why?” I asked.

“They’re obsessed with our world,” he said quietly. “Sometimes they take creampuff foxes. Sometimes they make them respawn… or worse.”

Before I could ask more—

WHACK!

Everything went dark.

The New World

When I opened my eyes, I was inside a rough bag. Cookie was beside me.

“I think humans took us,” he whispered.

The bag dropped. We tumbled out onto cold stone floors.

Above us floated a scroll that read:

Captured by royal guards. Sent to the Sky Prison.

All around us were terrified creampuff foxes. High above, in a glittering throne, sat the Queen.

Each year, she forced creampuff foxes to fight in the arena.

“HANDS UP! FIRE DOWN! FIGHT!” she shouted.

If anyone asked why we were there, she always said the same thing:

“Because your kind destroyed a billion of us. Now you must pay.”

And then she would order them gone.

A small, weak creampuff fox was pushed into the arena. A strong human stepped forward.

I wanted to spray my deadly spray to protect the fox — but a rubber band was locked around my mouth.

I couldn’t open it.

I searched the ground desperately.

Then I saw it.

A sharp bone.

I rolled toward it and pressed the lock against the tip.

Click.

It opened!

At the very last second, I sprayed the human.

The crowd gasped.

“WHAT WAS THAT?”

The Queen leaned forward. “Interesting,” she said. “If you win enough battles, you go free. But no one has ever won.”

That’s when I looked closer at the fox I had saved.

It was Cookie.

CHAPTER 2

“I need to get you out,” I whispered.

“I’ll be okay,” Cookie said. “Be careful.”

“I volunteer!” I shouted. “Put me in!”

The Queen frowned. “Put that one in the arena.”

I felt both brave and scared at the same time.

Another fox stepped into the arena beside me — a red-and-white fox with a fluffy beard.

“I’ve never met a Santa Puff before,” I said.

“My name is Jollypuff,” he replied nervously. “Are you trying to make the Queen angry?”

“The Queen isn’t the boss,” I said. “We are.”

He stared at me like I was crazy.

Maybe I was.

Wait a second, if I broke my rubber band, maybe I can kill their queen. I kept replying and the Santa puff kept replying  "Are you going to kill us all? You are going to make the queen mad!". I said " Their queen is not the boss, we are". I tried to make friends with the Santa puff, but he just will not become friends with me. I just wish he would be friends with me. Wait a second, if Cookie was put back in prison, and I know these people are forgetful, then they might put Cookie in the sharp bone place just like me".

And yep, they are forgetful. I saw Cookie when the Santa puff pointed to the sharp bone place. Finally, we where friends. The Santa puff said " are you going to kill the queen, so I can get out of here and deliver the presents? ".  Ohhh, right, I forgot to kill the queen. Maybe I'm forgetful like these people. The Santa puff  also said " how old are you? ".  I said " 74, 67, 42, 38? " The Santa puff said " Wow, you really can't tell me your age " .  I sighed. Thinking that even though I'm big and I'm supposed to know my age, but I can't. Maybe this place is for creampuff foxes who failed. Maybe I'm that one now.
