Chapter 1: The Golden Rule
Long ago, a kind man named Nate Harlow lived on Bear Mountain. He discovered a hidden treasure of sparkling gold! Nate wanted to use the gold to build schools and parks. He shared this secret with his friend Griffon, and they promised to use the treasure to help everyone in the valley.
To remember their promise, they made two special badges with a scorpion symbol on them. These were "Badges of Honesty." Nate’s son, Red, loved to watch the golden sunset and dreamed of the day he would grow up to be a protector of the mountain just like his father.
But one night, a group of greedy explorers led by Colonel Daren arrived. They didn't want to share! Red’s family had to move away to stay safe. As they left, Red tucked his father’s scorpion badge into his pocket. He promised that one day, he would return to make sure the gold was used for good.
Chapter 2: The Helpful Traveler
Many years passed, and Red grew into a brave and clever young man. He traveled across the wide, dusty plains on his faithful horse. Red became famous not for fighting, but for being a "Great Helper." He used a sturdy lasso to help people and solve mysteries wherever he went.
Red’s journey led him to a quiet place called Widows Patch. The town was sad because a bully named "Bloody" Tom had taken all the toys and tools from the local children. Red didn't use force; instead, he challenged Tom to a contest of skill to win the items back.
Red was so fast and accurate with his lasso that Tom realized he couldn't win and gave everything back. The townspeople cheered, and Red realized that being a true hero meant standing up for those who couldn't stand up for themselves.
Chapter 3: The Town of Brimstone
Red eventually arrived at the big, clattering town of Brimstone. It was a place full of bright lights, ruled by Governor Griffon. Red remembered that name! Griffon had forgotten his promise to Nate and was now using the gold to build giant statues of himself.
While exploring, Red met a brave rancher named Annie Stoakes. Some of the Governor's workers were trying to build a fence right through her garden! Red stepped in and helped Annie move her prize-winning cattle to safety, and the two became fast friends.
