Hello, I am Blackie! I am a black vulture and I live in forests and rocky mountains. My special home is Dadia forest in Evros, Greece and there is the last colony of my species in the whole Balncans, my home!

I love my home! Children around Europe cooperate and help me save it!!!

           specifically a black vulture.

The black vulture lays an egg that can be white or brownish, with reddish-brown spots, just like tiny drawings on its shell.

Both mom and dad vultures take turns keeping the egg warm. This caring job is called incubation.

A scavenger (feeding on carrion), large in size (with a wingspan of up to 3 metres) and dark plumage, it inhabits Mediterranean forests and mountainous areas.

The Black Vulture lives in Northern Greece, mainly in the Dadia Forest. Dadia Forest is one of the most important protected areas in Europe for rare birds and wildlife. The Black Vulture finds shelter, food, and safe nesting places there. This unique forest plays a very important role in the protection and survival of the species.
