We here at CLW (Connect, Learn, Work) offer many ADS (Adult Day Support) and Voc Hab (Vocational Habilitation) services in person. However, many don't know that we offer Virtual ADS & Virtual Voc Hab Services as well. One of those Virtual ADS services is our Virtual Book Club. We meet twice a month across all our locations and even offer this service to individuals who don't attend any of our centers in person. This book was an idea that we ran with at CLW Virtual Book Club, in which those in all of our locations who participate in it, contributed to what you read in this book. This was a fun project for the month of January and some of February 2026. We dedicate this book to everyone and especially those who perhaps have developmental disabilities of their own, to know that you can be a part of something truly wonderful and can have as much to contribute to society as anyone else! We hope our book produces a smile or even a laugh which was the purpose of those of us here at CLW Virtual Book Club. We hope to create a sequel to this book. I'm Silver Surfer!!

Hi, my name is Silver Surfer and I am a Super Hero for CLW. My super powers are I can electrocute, I can fly and I happen to be very good at basketball. I am very good friends with the Virtual Book Club folks at CLW. If I see they are in ANY danger, I swoop in to help them!

I'll tell you my real name, but you have to keep it a secret...my real name is Roy Firefighter. Don't tell anyone, or else!!

What's that sound I hear? Someone is in DANGER..

This is my dog and sidekick, his name is Frodo. Frodo hears a noise in the house.

Do you see anything dangerous? Oh no! SOMEONE BROKE THE WINDOW!!

Frodo is barking, he hears someone in the house!

Do you see anyone? We see a BIG clown!

He looks like a mouse! Should we be afraid?

"Don't be afraid. I'm not a mean clown."-says Luke the clown.

Frodo says "Ruff Ruff I don't trust you. Why are you here?"

Luke the clown says "I am here to tell jokes. I didn't see where the door was so I came in the window. Sorry, I'll fix that. Can I tell you a joke?"

Frodo says "It better be a good one, or else!"

Luke the clown says "Why did the jellybean go to school?"

Frodo says " Why?"

Luke says "Because it wanted to be a smarty bean!!"

Frodo does not even smile. No laugh at all. Frodo doesn't think its funny at all.

Luke sees that Frodo doesn't laugh and he gets nervous. Frodo begins to growl!

So Luke scrambles to think of another joke.

Luke decides on another joke and says " What is the difference between a pizza and a person?"

Frodo says "I don't know, what?"

Luke excitedly says "Because pizzas don't scream when you put them in the oven! HAHAHAHA"

Frodo smirks a little but doesn't laugh at all. Luke gets even more scared that Frodo is going to bite him. Instead Frodo decides to tell a joke.

Frodo says "Two dogs decide to eat a clown but one dog says to the other, 'does this taste funny to you?'"

Luke is REALLY SCARED NOW!

He thinks Frodo is going to eat him. But he still has a couple jokes up his sleeve to make Frodo laugh.

Luke decides to take a risk with this next joke and says " Why did the clown break into the house?"

Frodo says " Watch yourself!"

Luke says "Because he thought the place was a real circus!!"

After Luke says the punchline, Frodo actually laughs!

Frodo says "Okay that was a good one. You got me there."

Luke says "Wait, I have another one!"

Frodo says "Better be a good one"

Luke says "What do you get when you boil a clown?"

Frodo says "A tasty meal."

Luke says "NO! A laughing stock!!"

Frodo laughs hysterically! "HAHAHAHAHAHA"

As Frodo is laughing, Silver Surfer comes home...

CLW

At CLW we offer so many services specifically designed for adults with developmental disabilities. Among those services we provide Virtual Day Habilitation and Virtual Vocational Services as well. One of those Virtual Day Hab services we provide is our "Virtual Book Club." We hold a Virtual Book Club twice a month and discuss books we love to read, books we want to read, writing projects of all levels, create stories as a group and so much more! We decided to create this book together! We are so excited to publish something created by all participants across all of our locations that take part in the Virtual Book Club. We really hope you were able to enjoy a laugh at the joke book that these students worked hard to create. We hope to continue with this creation and make a sequel in the future. In the meantime, please enjoy "What Made You Laugh?" by the CLW Virtual Book Club.
