The Guardian of the Golden Forest

A Message from the Author:"Nature gives us everything, but only if we protect it."

Once upon a time, there was a magnificent place called the Golden Valley. It was a forest where the leaves looked like gold and the air was always fresh. Every corner was filled with beautiful origami animals living in peace.
In this forest, there lived a man named Jack. Jack was a woodcutter, but he didn't appreciate the beauty around him. He owned a large, blue truck that roared like a monster and a collection of very sharp, cold axes.
Jack was a very greedy man. While the squirrels were busy gathering nuts and the birds were singing their morning songs, Jack was only thinking about how much money he could make by cutting down the ancient trees.
Every morning, the peace of the forest was broken by the loud sound of Jack’s truck. The animals would hide behind the bushes, their hearts beating fast with fear. They knew that Jack did not care about their homes.
One sunny afternoon, Jack found a giant, beautiful oak tree in the middle of the valley. "This is perfect!" he shouted with a greedy smile. "The wood from this tree will help me build the biggest house in the land."
He picked up his heaviest axe and started to hit the trunk. The woodpeckers flew around his head, chirping loudly to make him stop, but Jack just pushed them away. He didn't hear the forest crying.
As the tall trees began to fall, the squirrels watched in horror. Their nests were destroyed, and they had no place to store their acorns for the long winter. The forest was slowly becoming a lonely, empty place.
From the shadows of the remaining trees, the foxes and the deer watched Jack. Their big, bright eyes were full of sadness. They couldn't understand why this man wanted to destroy the only home they had ever known.
Jack used the stolen wood to build himself a massive, fancy wooden cabin. He also built a very tall fence around it. "I don't need anyone," he thought. He felt very proud and safe inside his new, silent walls.
Soon, the Golden Valley didn't look golden anymore. The ground was dry, and there were only brown tree stumps left. The songs of the birds had disappeared, and a heavy silence covered the entire landscape.
Suddenly, one dark night, the wind began to howl. The sky turned a deep, scary black, and a massive storm arrived. The rain was so heavy that it felt like the sky was falling down on the earth.
Because Jack had cut down all the trees, there were no roots left to hold the soil. The water turned the dry ground into a dangerous, moving river of mud. The hills started to slide down toward Jack's house.
