Appearance:Did you know octopuses have 3 hearts and 9 brains? octopus are marine animals they are invertebrates so they do not have any bones like us.

Octopus have 2 large eyes that help them spot their enemies. They can either have smooth or warty skin depending on the temperature of the water the live in. they are usually 1-5 feet long and a couple pounds depending on what type of octopus they are.

Habitat: Octopus live in oceans around the world most live in warm water but some prefer cold water. they usually live around 2,000 ft under water when they get close to the surface they use camaflage to blend end so they don't get caught by birds and other predators.

Most octopus live alone and defend their home.

Octopuses usually only come together to mate. 

They live in natural structures you can find in the water.

Diet: Octopus are carnivores and eat other animals like crabs, shrimp, and lobsters. Smaller or baby octopus eat plankton until they get bigger.

Did you know octopus eat 2%-4% of their body weight a day? which is about 3-5 pounds.

Mating habits and babies: Babies are born in eggs,depending on the species a mother can give birth to 100,000 eggs at one time. they take 2-10 months to hatch from their eggs.

Shortly after they give birth both the male and female octopus die and the babies are on there own.
