In a small town lived three brothers. Their names were Eric, Geric, and Deric. The brothers loved each other so much that they decided to become neighbors. That way they were always close and could do everything together.

One morning, the brothers met outside to plan their day. "What should we do today?" asked Geric. "We can go get ice cream", said Eric. He loved ice cream. "We can go to the zoo", said Deric. He enjoyed seeing the giraffes. "We always do those things," said Geric. Let's do something different. "Like what?" squealed Eric and Deric. "Well... I think we're ready for our first swim. Let's go to the beach!" said Geric. "The beach!!!" shouted Eric."We haven't been there since we were pups", said Deric. "I know. We have walked on the beach, but we've never gotten in the water. Let's try something new," said Geric. "Okay! Let's do it!" said the other brothers excitedly.

As they walked along the path, they saw one of their friends. "Look! There's Sir Jeffries," said Eric. "Hello, Sir Jeffries!" said the brothers. "Hello, brothers!" said Sir Jeffries. Where are you guys off to today? "We are going to the beach!" exclaimed the brothers. "Oh, wow. It's a beautiful day for the beach", said Sir Jeffries. "It will be our first swim," said Geric happily. "Well, I'm sure you all are natural swimmers. Remember to keep each other safe and have fun", said Sir Jeffries. "We will", chimed the brothers. " Have a good day, Sir Jeffries!" said the brothers.

As they walked along, they thought about how wonderful it would be. "Do you guys remember what our parents taught us?" said Geric. "No", said Eric and Deric. As they were discussing it, they were about to pass their friend Chance. "Hey there, brothers! What are you up to?" said Chance. "Hi, Chance! We are going to the beach, but we can't remember what our parents taught us about swimming", said the brothers. "That's easy. When you get in the water, just kick and don't stop.  It's an instinct of ours. It will come naturally." said Chance.
