Chapter one: Love hurts

"I'm so stupid" Everett whispered, so softly, that his kitten, Saffron, couldn't even hear him. "I'm so stupid" Everett repeated, but screamed it this time. His  girlfriend, Ella, had dumped him that night. All Everett could think about now was, well, nothing. Pictures of him and Ella were shattered, which made glass scattered all around his dusty apartment room. One particular picture caught his eye. He picked it up and carefully removed the glass. The picture was of him and Ella on their first date. Ella was smiling cutely.

He threw the photo back on the ground and sighed. He had no idea his life was about to change forever.
