THE RELAXATION OF PACE

Peace is not a game, we know that, a precious gift that we all want. You don't need a magic wand to make it, but three ingredients are enough to create it. The first is a big, sincere smile that warms up those right next to you. The second is a hand reaching out, when the friend asks you for help. The third is a forgiveness, which drives away the quarrel, and unites thoughts with a beautiful hedgehog. Peace is a hug in the courtyard, it's not making noise while a friend sleeps. It's a song sung together, it's loving each other without problems. If we try a little every day, peace flourishes in every garden.

LET'S MAKE PEACE

Arguments can happen,

but we can make it right,

just by truly wanting it, by

listening to your heart and not your mind.

Free Verse

Talil Sorek was a thirteen-year-old Israeli girl when she wrote this award-winning poem, which became famous worldwide. Through a very simple image, Talil makes us reflect on what the word "peace" can mean in a region like the Middle East, the scene of many terrible wars.
