It was a sunny morning in Paris, France. The flowers were blooming and the birds were singing happily. Beril was very excited. It was her first day at her new school in France. She moved from Turkey one week ago. Her brown eyes were shining with happiness, but her heart was beating very fast. Everything felt strange and new.

LOVE STORY
Beril had long, dark brown hair. She walked to a small coffee shop near the school to buy a coffee. The people in the shop were not very friendly. They spoke quickly and did not smile much. "French people are different from Turkish people," she thought.
Suddenly, she saw a tall, handsome boy at the next table. He had blue eyes and a warm smile. His name was André. He looked at Beril and smiled. Beril felt shy.

Her cheeks became red. She quickly turned her head, her hair shining in the sun. She paid for her coffee and left the shop fast. André was surprised and a little confused. "Who is that beautiful girl?" he thought.
Beril walked on the busy street to school. Suddenly, a man in a black jacket ran to her. He tried to take her bag! "Help! Help!" Beril shouted. She pulled her bag hard. The robber pushed her. She fell down near a small park.
André was walking behind her. He saw everything!

He ran very fast. "Stop!" he shouted. He jumped and caught the robber's arm. They fought for a moment. André was strong. He pushed the robber to the ground. Two police officers came quickly and took the bad man away.
Beril stood up. Her hands were shaking. "Thank you... thank you so much," she said in English. André smiled. "Are you okay? My name is André." Beril answered, "I am Beril. From Turkey." They looked at each other. Something special happened in that moment.

After that day, André invited Beril to walk in the beautiful Jardin des Tuileries. They talked and laughed a lot. Beril told him about Turkey, her family, and Turkish food. André told her about Paris, the Eiffel Tower, and his dreams to travel the world.
One weekend, they decided to go on a big adventure. They took a train to the south of France, to a small village near the mountains. They wanted to hike and see beautiful views. But the adventure became exciting and dangerous!

On the mountain path, they heard a strange noise. Suddenly, a big storm came! Rain fell hard, and wind was strong. The path became very slippery. Beril slipped and almost fell down the hill! André caught her hand quickly. "Hold me tight!" he said. They ran to find a small cave to hide.

In the cave, they sat close. It was cold, but they felt warm together. "I was very scared," Beril said. André looked into her eyes. "I will always protect you," he answered. Then, he took her hand softly and kissed it. Beril smiled. Their hearts were beating together.

After the storm finished, they found a hidden treasure! Not gold, but an old, beautiful box with two silver rings inside. They laughed. "Maybe this is a sign," André said. Beril nodded. "Yes, our adventure sign."
They came back to Paris. They visited many places, the Eiffel Tower at night, the Louvre Museum, small streets with music. They ate croissants, drank hot chocolate, and danced under the stars.
After ten years of adventures, love, and many travels, André and Beril got married in a small church in Provence. Flowers were everywhere. They had two beautiful children. They still go on adventures together, sometimes in France, sometimes in Turkey.
And they lived happily, full of love and excitement...
Ever after. :)
Things That Panic Bring
Amy was very happy today because her article was accepted by Professor Tom. Unfortunately, she didn’t know what was coming.
She got out of bed, took a shower, and suddenly the water was cut off. She got out of the shower, brushed her wavy yellow hair, and got dressed. For breakfast, she just had a coffee. Then she finally left her apartment and waited for a taxi.
While she was waiting, it started to rain. The news had said it would rain tomorrow, but she had forgotten to take an umbrella.
She was already worried because she had a meeting with Professor Tom at 10:00, and it was only 09:00 when she started waiting for the taxi. You know Toronto traffic it is always terrible.
The taxi arrived at 09:25. Even the driver looked annoyed because he was late. Amy thought this was supposed to be her best day, but some bad things were happening on that “best” day. She got into the taxi.
There was a lot of traffic. Everyone was arguing and honking angrily. The noise was overwhelming. Amy felt like she was going to explode like a bomb. Finally, she arrived at the university at 09:55.
She was running as fast as she could because if she was late, she thought she would lose her chance to become a professional article writer. She got into the elevator and pressed button 28.
But the elevator suddenly stopped at the 20th floor.
Amy shouted, “This can’t be real! Not today!”
The lights inside the elevator started to flicker. First slowly, then faster. The air suddenly became very cold. Amy could see her own breath.
She tried to press the buttons again, but none of them were working.
Then something strange happened. The number screen changed.
20… 19… 18…
But the elevator was not moving.
Amy’s heart started beating fast. She was sure the elevator was still on the 20th floor. She looked at the mirror inside the elevator and froze.
In the reflection, she was not alone. There was a tall shadow standing behind her. She quickly turned around. No one was there. She looked at the mirror again. The shadow was closer. The lights went out completely. For a few seconds, there was total darkness.
Then she heard a whisper from the corner of the elevator: “You forgot something…”
Amy’s mind rushed back to the morning. The water cutting off. The sudden rain. The late taxi. The traffic chaos. The broken elevator. It was like the whole day was planned.
But by who? Suddenly, the screen showed: 28.
The elevator doors slowly opened. But this was not the university floor.
The hallway was dark. The walls looked old and cracked. The lights were red. At the end of the corridor, there was a door with a sign:
Professor Tom – Office”
Amy felt confused. This did not look like her university. She slowly walked forward. Each step echoed loudly in the empty hallway. When she reached the door, it opened by itself. Inside, Professor Tom was sitting at the desk. But something was wrong. His eyes were completely black.
He smiled slowly and said, “Congratulations, Amy. Your article was accepted… because we chose you.”
Amy stepped back.
“Chose me for what?” she whispered. Suddenly the office disappeared. Everything turned dark. Amy woke up. She was inside the elevator. The doors were open. Students were walking normally. Everything looked normal. She checked the time.
09:56.
She quickly ran to the real 28th floor using the stairs. When she arrived, she saw Professor Tom. His eyes were normal. His office looked normal.
He smiled and said, “You’re just on time, Amy.” Amy sat down, still shaking.
On Professor Tom’s desk, she saw her article. At the bottom of the page, written in red ink, there was a sentence:
“You forgot something.”
Amy suddenly remembered. She never finished the last paragraph of her article.
From that day on, Amy always wondered: Was it just panic? Or did something else bring it?
