There once was a boy, a boy with a pet snake. The snake was no ordinary
snake however, for he, could talk. The boy and snake lived with his father. The
boy would often ask about his mother, and the father would reply by telling him a
silly story about a flounder, and how it gave them so much, but then took all of it
away. After a while of sulking one night, his mother flew into such a rage, that
she ran away and never came back. The boy would say that he was lying, and
that he didn't want to tell him the truth, but little did he know, this story was true.
The whole plot was about to unfold before his very eyes.

The Boy, was waiting for his father. He was later than usual, but for
some reason, there felt like there was a sense of panic in the air.
He waited, and waited, and waited some more, until he realized, he
was not coming back, it was 4'o clock in the morning and his father
left yesterday at noon. He was scared, and wanted to know what
happened. "Your father is gone child, he is gone forever." the snake
said. "No, he's coming back!" The boy loved his father very much,
and he didn't know what he would do without him. After more
hours of fear and confusion, the boy decided to go out to look for
his father. "I cannot bear this for any longer, come with me to
search for my father." the snake wasn't fond of the old man, but
loved the boy very much so he agreed. "Very well, let us search for
him." The snake crawled into the boy's shirt and wrapped himself
snugly around his lower chest, at first, the boy thought this was
disgusting, but now he was fine with this such attempt. The boy
and the snake went out to the Ocean and saw absolutely nothing.

The boy was now even more frightened, he was alone only with his
snake. "I wish to see my father again." "Well then boy, if you want
to see him, you must complete various tasks for me." A strange
voice replied. "Who is that?!" the boy was scared, and didn't know
what was happening. "Look into the water, Fisherman's son." The
boy looked into the dark waves and saw a flat, brown fish. "A
flounder, a talking flounder!" "It is I, the magical flounder prince!"
"Your father was foolish enough to ask for something even after
that evil woman was pushing him." "I have banished him to the
Mariana's Trench, where he may talk with the anglerfish in the
pitch blackness." "Oh no! Please, I beg you! Give me my father
back!" "Boy, your father was foolish, now you must pay the price,
go to the Tailor's kingdom at the west and bring back the tail coat
of the King! Off with you now, GO GO! The water shimmered in the
moonlight until the reflection was too bright for the boy's eyes. As
the light faded away, there was no more of the magical flounder,
all that was left was the black, barren waves.

The boy traveled with the snake until he reached a river to take a
drink. "Help, somebody help me!" The boy saw a wolf drowning in
the river. "Help me, please, HEELP!" The boy dove into the river
and thrash-swam his way to the wolf on the other side. The boy
pulled the wolf to his previous spot of where he was going to take
a drink. "Thank you, boy..." The wolf slipped in and out of
consciousness until the three were resting under a tall,
cobblestone wall. "How are you wolf, are you hurt?" "Wh, where
am I?" "You are with us on the side of the kingdom wall." "Boy, my
stomach, cut it open.." "Why wolf?!" "Do it!" the wolf snarled in a
meek, hoarse voice. The boy sliced open the flesh of the wolf's
stomach, as he screamed in pain drifting into shock of pain. Out
tumbled big, heavy stones onto the bloodied grass. Once the boy
was finished, he sewed the wound up with flower stem fibers and
rested for a long while.

The boy awoke to the sound of the snake's speech. "Child, we must
get going, I hear someone." The boy rubbed his eyes and awoke
the wolf "Wolf we must get going, for my snake hears someone."
The wolf's ears twitched. "Yes, thank you child, but before we shall
flee, may I ask how do you know what the snake heard?" The
snake slithered in a upward spiral motion to where he met his eyes
"For I am no regular snake wolf, I am a snake who speaks." The
wolfs eyes shined with interest as he thought. Then he paused, and
relaxed. "Yes, well then snake, where must we flee from these
men?" "To the castle of course you silly wolf." the snake said in a
mockingly tone. The three took a path that followed to the other
side of the wall where the entrance is. "My boy, how may I repay
you for your act of kindness?" the wolf asked. "Will you aid us in
our quest wolf?" "I will do so only if we may stop by the mountains
only north of the kingdom."
