Chapter 1: The Whisper of a Special Night
All day long, something exciting buzzed in the air.
Aisha felt it when she woke up. She felt it when Mum smiled a little more than usual. She even felt it when Dad checked the sky through the window and said,
"Tonight might be the night."

"The night for what?" Aisha asked, already guessing.
"The Eid moon," Mum said softly. "If we see it, tomorrow will be Eid!"
Aisha's heart did a little, happy jump.
Eid meant Laughter. Eid meant new clothes. Eid meant delicious food and big hugs and lots of gifts and money envelopes.
But first, there was something very important to do.
They had to look for the moon.

Chapter 2: Getting Ready to Search
After dinner, the house filled with excitement.
Aisha grabbed her small notebook and pencil.
"What's that for?" asked her little brother, Ismail.
"I'm a moon explorer," Aisha said proudly. "Explorers write things down.

Dad picked up a soft blanket.Mum packed warm tea and sweet dates.
Outside, the evening sky was turning deep blue. The sun had disappeared and tiny stars began to blink like shy fireflies.
"This is the time," Mum said. "Just after sunset."
They walked to the park where the sky felt wide and open.
Aisha took a deep breath and looked up.
"Okay, moon," she whispered. "We're ready."
Chapter 3: Eyes on the Sky
Everyone looked up.
Aisha squinted, Ismail flickered his eyes with his hands. Dad pointed towards the horizon.
"Do you see anything?" Aisha asked.
"I see clouds," said Ismail. "I see stars," said Mum.
"I see hope," Dad said with a smile.
They waited quietly.
The sky slowly grew darker. The air felt cool and calm.
Somewhere nearby, a cat padded softly across the grass.
"Why do we look for the Moon?" Ismail asked.
Mum knelt beside him. "The moon helps us know when a new month/moon begins," she said. "When we see the new crescent moon, Ramadan ends and Eid begins."

Aisha imagined families all around the world,
looking up. Waiting together.
All watching the same sky.

Chapter 4: A Tiny Silver Smile
Suddenly, Aisha gasped.
"WAIT!"
Everyone froze.
She pointed toward the horizon. "There!! Just above the clouds!"
At first, it was hard to see.
Then--- there it was.
A tiny silver curve. Like the moon was smiling.
"I see it!" Ismail shouted.
"It's real," Mum whispered.
"Allahu Akbar," Dad said softly.

Aisha and Ismail felt warm and happy inside.
The moon wasn't big. It wasn't bright.
But it was enough.
