PROTECT THE SEA

Goody was a little whale living in the deep blue ocean among a school of old, wise whales. They moved slowly, singing soft songs.

But Goody did not feel like singing. He swam alone, looking for his fish friends - the quick silver ones, the tiny colourful ones, the ones who used to play hide-and-seek in the coral. They were all gone...

The water was no longer clear. It was cloudy and full of floating plastic bags, bottles and strange things.

Goody tried to play, but the plastic hit him or got stuck on his fins...

     Goody tried to call for help, he cried and yelled as 

he struggled to free his fin from the plastic it was too hard to break!!!

     One of his fish friends Rory saw him and quickly swam over. 

     ‘Are you OK? What happened?’ he asked. 

     Goody explained that he was playing when he got tangled in plastic that wrapped around his fin. His friend tried to pull the plastic off, but he couldn't...and suddenly an idea struck him ... 

     Rory decided to...

“First, we’ll ask a friend for help!”
“Stelios the boatman,” Goody replied. “Look, there he is, coming towards us!” Mr. Stelios understood immediately; he took photos of the little fish gathering the trash and sent them to global organizations and the television. Soon, the message went global: “If the fish care about our Home, what are we doing?”
The Organizations: They brought special nets that only collected trash, keeping the fish safe.
The Children: Schools started making posters with a promise to never throw trash on the beach again.
The Adults: They placed large, colorful recycling bins in every harbor.
After a while, the seabed sparkled once more!
