The whole place was filled to the brim with enthusiastic students gearing up for the annual sports day meet.I had been training for many weeks for this day and wanted to win the gold  throphy.

Time flew by and soon, it was my time to shine. Bang!The race begun and everyone ran like the wind towards the finishing line.I could hear my friends saying my name as they punched their fists in the air.All of a sudden,I fell and my right knee grazed against the rough track!I rocked back and forth in pain, upset that my many weeks of training had gone down the drain.

Crestfallen, I limped towards the first aid corner with the help of my form teacher."Don't worry ,you  can always try again next year!"she encouraged me as she gave me a pat on the back.I felt comforted by her words.I was only in primary Two and had four more tries to win a gold throphy.

Even though my first race did not end well,I told myself to work harder  and try again next time. It was an unforgettable first race indeed!
