In the heart of a forest untouched by human feet and untouched by axes for centuries, towering red pines reached towards the sky, and thousands of living creatures lived peacefully in their shade. The oldest inhabitant of the forest, "The Great Pine," was bound to the earth with its roots and to the sky with its branches. The first rays of morning light filtered through the leaves, awakening the scent of damp earth and the chirping of birds. The forest played its own silent symphony.

Peaceful years gave way to anxious anticipation as the climate changed. Successive dry summers drained the forest's moisture. The soil cracked, the riverbed narrowed. Green leaves turned yellow and dried, the bark of the "Great Pine" scorched. The once lush forest now carried the whisper of a dry wind. Creatures began to migrate in search of water. The heart of the forest continued to beat with the pain of thirst.

The disaster began with a single spark carried by a dry wind. Lightning struck the forest canopy, instantly igniting the dry branches. The flames quickly engulfed the forest's completely dehydrated tissues. Carried by the wind, the sparks flew for miles, starting new fires. The "Great Pine" also succumbed to the flames, trying to protect the soil with its roots even as its trunk burned. The forest had now turned into a sea of fire, scattering its own ashes into the air.

The fire engulfed the entire forest, painting the sky a terrifying mixture of orange and black. Huge clouds of smoke covered the sky, turning day into night. Sparks flew through the air, fanned by the wind, igniting new fires. The trunk of the "Great Pine" burned, its branches crackling in the flames. The silent cry of the forest was lost in the roar of the flames. Now only the hum of desperate destruction could be heard.
