In the past, memories lived in tangible photographs. Today, they are shaped in cloud drives and digital footprints. Technology entered our homes as a guest but quickly became the most dominant member. In a world where screens are so bright, can we still see the light in each other's eyes?

"My Ideal Digital Family" is not a manifesto against technology. On the contrary, this book is a guide to using it as an ally that unites us, rather than a threat that divides. It is about existing safely and consciously without losing our human connection.

It was a quiet Sunday morning at the Tekin household. But it wasn't a peaceful silence; it was a "screen silence." Everyone was tucked into their own corner of the living room sofa. Ten-year-old Ege was lost in a digital game world, while seven-year-old Zeynep sat focused on her cartoons with headphones on. Their mother, Elif, was busy replying to work emails, and their father, Murat, was scrolling through the latest news on his smartwatch. Although they were all in the same room, they were actually miles apart.

Suddenly, the Wi-Fi connection dropped. The glowing screens went dark. Four heads slowly lifted at the same time, and for the first time in hours, their eyes met. The digital wall between them had finally vanished.

Zeynep și-a scos încet căștile. „Desenele animate s-au oprit... dar poate face altceva?”, a spus ea, aruncând o privire spre mama ei. Elif sa uitat la toți, surprinsă de câte multe se schimbă toată lumea în doar câteva minute. „Poate am putea... vorbi? Sau să jucăm un joc împreună?”, a sugerat ea, aproape ezitantă, ca și cum ar fi uitat cum. Pentru o clipă, nimeni nu sa mișcat. Apoi Ege a întins mâna după un joc de societate prăfuit de pe raft. „Obișnuiam să jucăm asta, îți amintești?”, a spus el, suflând un strat subțire de praf. Ochii lui Zeynep s-au luminat și a făcut repede loc pe masă. 

Tăcerea părea diferită acum – nu mai era goală, ci plină de ceva nou. Murat și-a dres glasul și sa uitat în jur, aproape nesigur ce să spună după ore întregi de derulare în liniște. „Deci... ce făceați cu toții?”, a întrebat el, cu un mic zâmbet alcătuindu-se. Ege a ridicat din umeri, punând dispozitivul deoparte. „Jucam un joc... dar acum e cam plictisitor.”
