Short Descrip on of the Project

This project is an interna onal eTwinning collabora on aimed at improving Python programming, industrial electronics, and ar ficial intelligence skills of voca onal and technical high school students aged 14–18. Conducted in partnership with Türkiye and several European countries, this ini a ve serves as a preparatory process for developing an AI-supported simulator to be used in the field of industrial control. Throughout the project, students will par cipate in ac vi es on digital ci zenship, safe internet use, coding, electronic circuit design, and ethical use of AI tools. Within the scope of interna onal coopera on, Python mini-projects, an electronic glossary, AI-assisted posters, and a digital e-book will be created. In addi on to promo ng mul cultural interac on, the project also provides academic and technical prepara on for Erasmus mobility.

Teams must design a system for a logistics company with the following requirements:

Sensor: Use an HC-SR04 ultrasonic sensor to detect the height of boxes on a moving belt.

Actuator: Use a Servo Motor to act as a diverter arm.

Sorting Rules:

Large Boxes (> 10cm): Servo moves to 90°, and a Red LED flashes.

Small Boxes (≤ 10cm): Servo stays at 0°, and a Green LED flashes.

Project Framework: From Fundamentals to AI Simulation

Study of an industrial problem

Group 1 - Smart Greenhouse Irrigation System

The Problem: An urban farm needs to optimize water consumption by watering plants only when necessary and ensuring light levels are sufficient.

The Task: Integrate a soil moisture sensor and a light sensor (LDR).

Python Logic: If moisture is below a specific threshold AND it is night (low light), trigger a water pump (simulated by an LED or small motor).

AI Challenge: Use the chatbot to generate a script that calculates the average soil moisture over a period to predict the next watering cycle.

Group 2 - Parts Counter with Capacity Alert

The Problem: A factory needs to count items on a production line and stop the conveyor belt when a shipping box is full.

The Task: Use an infrared or ultrasonic sensor to detect each passing object.

Python Logic: Increment a variable with each detection. When it reaches 50 units, a Servo Motor must block the line, and a Red LED must turn on.

AI Challenge: Request a prompt for a web-based simulator that displays the "Total Parts Sorted" and "Production Accuracy".

Group 3 - Automated Parking Lot Control

The Problem: A private parking lot wants to automate entry gates and provide real-time status to drivers.

The Task: Use an ultrasonic sensor (HC-SR04) at the entrance to detect a car's presence.

Python Logic: If an object is detected within 5cm, a Servo Motor (gate) rotates 90 degrees. A Green LED indicates "Space Available" while a Red LED indicates "Full".

AI Challenge: Include a brief explanation in the code on how to calibrate the sensor to ignore small animals or debris.
