Hola amigos. We are going to run into the magnificent topic of Plate Tectonics. You will learn so much that will impact your life in many benifitial ways.
. Heat Transfer in many Forms!
There are three types of heat transfer in our world. Heat can go through materials that are touching which is called Conduction. Heat can go through the transfer of energy that is carried in rays of light which is called Radiation. One last way of heat transfer is convection which is the heat transfer from the movement of a fluid. The flow at which transfer occurs within fluids is the convection current. Heat comes through the flow of many different types of ways.
Heat Transfer but in the Earth!
Heat can be transferred anywhere. Especially, inside the Earth. Inside the Earth there is the mantle, core, and crust where all of them play a part in how heat travels through it. Heat released from Earth's core drives convection currents throughout the mantle and the crust. In the Mantle the heat and pressure have caused solid rock to warm and flow very slowly. When this happens the hot liquid flows and transfers heat to the top part of the mantle. Afterwards it goes back down hardens and the cycle repeats for billions of years.
Volcanoes and Plate Tectonics!
Here we talk again about how the heat transfer is going through a hot spot. A hot spot is an area where material from deep within Earth's mantle rises through the crust and melts to form magma. There is a lot of heat in the magma and when a volcano forms above a hot spot magma erupts through the crust and reaches the surface. When the heat goes through the mantle and all that the plates are forced to move as pressure really pushes to make volcanoes. As volcanoes are made plates move making the earth move.

Volcanoes form around either Diverging or converging plate boundaries. Both plate tectonics of diverging and converging trigger Volcanic activity. Differences between them is that a Diverging plate boundary is where two plates move apart, and a Converging plate boundary is where two oceanic plates collide. Without the boundaries moving in any way either moving together or apart volcanoes wouldn't be made and if volcanoes are not made then the plates cannot move as well as our earth moving over time.

Drifting Tectonics and Fossils!
There was once a massive landmass where continents were joined together but overtime they have separated and drifted apart. The continental drift is what happened to the continents where the continents slowly moved over the earth's surface. Examples of plate tectonics moving at all are fossils. A fossil is any trace of an ancient organism that has been preserved in rock. When the fossil moves with the plates it can reveal how old the fossil is from the land and that can show it moved. The more fossils are studied or researched on how old they are the more we realize how much our earth is moving.

Drifting Continents and Climate!
Climate is a great example of Plate tectonics moving. As a continent moves toward the equator, its climate gets warmer. As a continent moves towards the poles, its climate gets colder. You can tell by how cold or warm the continent is as Climate reveals a great way of showing how plate tectonics are moving towards the poles, equator, or somewhere else. Continental drift is happened when the plates moved slowly toward the poles and equator.

Sea Floor Spreading!
A way that the floor can split in the ocean is mid-ocean ridges. A mid-ocean ridge is where seams form mountain ranges that run along the middle of some ocean floors. When the mountains go up they cut the ocean floor in halves making a split. The process of when the mid-ocean ridges continually add new material to the ocean floor is sea-floor spreading. When the sea floor spreads into halves having mountains form, the plate tectonics are moving as well and that is another way the earth can move.
