GREECE
Primary School of Panagiouda 'Odysseas Elytis-Alepoudellis', 6th Grade
"NUMBERS" Teacher:Despina Koutsomiti

"NUMBERS"
Materials: One hoop and one lightweight ball
Rules: Two teams of children stand facing each other on the two end lines of the court. The PE teacher assigns a number to each child on both teams. In the center of the court, at an equal distance from both teams, the teacher places a lightweight ball inside a hoop. The teacher calls out a number (starting with "number 1"). Two children—one from each team who has been assigned that number—enter the court and race to grab the ball. The goal of this activity is for the child who reaches the ball first to pick it up and run back to their team's line. Meanwhile, the second child must chase and try to tag the player holding the ball. If the student with the ball reaches their team's position safely, they score a point for their team. However, if the opponent tags the student with the ball, they earn a point for their team instead .

"GIANTS"
Τeacher:Lefki Tsevairidou

"Giants"
Objectives: Spatial awareness, speed, agility, quick reflexes.
Rules
The children stand on one side of the court. One child (the "giant") stands in the center of the court.
The teacher whistles and the children try to run to the opposite side of the court, avoiding the giant, who moves with side-steps along a straight line.
Children who successfully pass the giant are not allowed to return to their starting position until everyone has crossed.
When the giant catches a child, that child becomes a giant as well. The game continues until only one child is left.
Variations
Depending on the total number of students, the number of giants can range from one to three children.

POLAND
Primary School Nr 6 in Siedlce, Poland; 5th grade
teacher: Marta Niesiołowska Active Hoop

“Active Hoop” is a team-based physical game that develops cooperation, passing accuracy, and quick decision-making.
Team Composition
Two teams (e.g., 4–6 players each). In each team, one player holds the “hoop.”
One ball (e.g., a basketball).
What can be a “hoop”?
The “hoop” can be:
a hula hoop, a bucket, a basket, or any other safe container or ring suitable for the students’ age. The player holding the hoop can move freely around the gym.
Score points by:
- Completing 5 passes between teammmates
- After the fifth pass- throwing the ball into the hoop held by the designated player
Game rules:
The game starts with a pass from the teacher or one of the teams. The attacking team makes passes and counts them out loud. Players may dribble the ball (as in basketball). After completing five passes, the team attempts a shot into the moving hoop.
Special Situations
If the ball drops to the floor – the team continues playing, but the pass count resets to zero (the ball is not given to the opposing team).
Possession changes only if the opposing team:
- intercepts the ball,
- knocks it out of bounds,
- or legally takes it according to the rules.
If the shot after five passes misses – the game continues and the pass count starts over.
Game Variants
You can play:
Timed game – the team with the most points at the end wins.
Point-based game – e.g., first team to reach 5, 10, or a set number of points.
Restrictions
No physical contact.
No snatching the ball from opponents.
Optional: a player cannot pass to the same teammate twice in a row.
Points are awarded only after 5 successful passes followed by a successful shot into the hoop.
