Geography
Our first unit we learn about was Geography. This unit was mostly about latitude and longitude. Latitude and longitude is finding a location off of the equator and prime meridian. Also another big part in geography is the landmarks.
Economics
In the unit economics we learned about The economics system is in which people make, exchange, and use things that have value. Also learned about what producers and consumer are. Another thing is what the GDP (the measure of goods and services in a year produced by a country), GDP per capita (It's the GDP divided by the population to find the average amount of money each person makes), and Standard of living (Measurement of a country’s education, housing, health, and nutrition).
Government
In the Government unit we learned about all the different types of governments. There are hundreds of different types of governments but they all go into different categories. They either fit into Tribal rule, direct dictatorship, Representative Democracy/Republic, Constitutional monarchy, dictatorship, Absolute Monarchy, Oligarchy, and International Organizations. Also how they act and the environment they live in. Some of the different categories live like each other and some live in completely opposite ways.
Culture
In our culture unit we learned the different parts of culture. These things are Beliefs, Customs, Ideas, ways of doing things, Homes, Food, Clothing, Sports, Literature/art, Religion, Government, and Language. Cultural diffusion is something else we talked about in this unit. Cultural diffusion is the movement of customs and ideas. Also acculturation is the process of accepting new ideas and fitting them into a culture.
Religion
Five major world religions are Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, and Buddhism. The most famous religion is Christianity with 2.1 billion followers. Christianity has also been around the longest. Christianity has been around since 33 C.E. During this unit we also talking about the FOUNDER, what the place of worship is, what the holy book is called, major beliefs, and major holidays for the religion.
