This is Mr. Snake, he lives in the desert. It's as hot
as 104°F in the summer and as cold as 17°F at night
with barely 10 inches of rain during the year. The
inhabitants are all out to compete and fight each other
to survive. Yet, Mr. Snake has lived here his entire life.
He also likes to change his color a lot.

Mr. Snake survives by hiding in the sand to escape from the
burning sun and hide from potential predators like hawks and
eagles. The rock ledges and shifting desert sands work as a cover
for him.

At night, Mr. Snake will come out to look for prey to eat. His eyes
allow him to see in the dark, making hunting easier. When he spots
a rodent or a lizard, he will pounce and swallow them whole. This
keeps him satisfied for a day or two.

FOR THE
CAUSE!!!!

FOR
LUNCH!!!

Today, like always, Mr. Snake is out hunting for prey. He passes
by many cacti and shrubs while slithering through the sand. The
plant life is a good source of shade and sometimes water. Mr.
Snake keeps himself from drying out by trapping water on his
scales to use later.

Over the last few days, finding prey, mostly small rodents and
reptiles, has been difficult. There seems to be less animals in the
area than in years past.

Suddenly, Mr.Snake hears loud noises and notices a lot of movement
in the distance. He decides to go check it out.

What Mr. Snake saw was something he had never scene before.
Some kind of large creature was digging holes in the ground and
making strange sounds. There was also strange dark substances on
the sand's surface.

Little did he know that the desert home he lived in was filled with
precious oil. Humans in trucks would come daily to dig through the
desert to find a source of that liquid gold, destroying the land in the
process.

Mr. Snake noticed how badly the land was being damaged by these
things. So, Mr. Snake went off and gathered his fellow snakes
together.

Donning his captain's hat, Captain Snake gathered his crew. As a
big group, the snake army slithered towards the strange creature.
The approached, hissing, ready to fight for their homeland.
