There once was a cat named Olive, roaming through the streets in Oakhaven City. She had bright yellow eyes that glowed through the night like stars sparkling in the dark sky. Raven-black , shiny fur that glossed in the sunlight, along with brown spots forming from the sun. She would always sit at the park alone, entertaining herself with the community of animals in the city.
But, Olive did not always fit in with the rest of the animals in Oak Haven City. She was a timid kitty, and worried that her voice was too small for others to ever listen to her. Olive sat at the park and watched the other animals play and talk together. " Oh, how I wish I could go up to them and play." she thought to herself, lowering her head slightly
Olive decided she should go up to the other animals and try to find friends. She peeked out behind a tall patch of grass. Near the pond, a Mother duck waddled proudly with her ducklings following closely behind. She wanted to introduce herself and join their little parade.
But a wall of silence stood between her and the ducks. Olive opened her mouth to speak, yet her words still remained trapped inside. As the ducklings waddled away, she lowered her head again, wishing she could climb over that wall and finally let her voice be heard.
" Wow, I can't believe I made not a single friend, and did not even say a single word." Olive sighed feeling disappointed. As she was walking home to meet her Granny Ida, she spotted a small kitten who looked like it wandered away from its family hiding in the bushes.
" Hey, are you okay? Do you need help?" she asked the kitten as she ran over to help. "No, I can't find my family!" the little grey kitten stammered. At first Olive was afraid to call out for help, but at that moment she remembered a saying that her Granny Ida would always tell her, " A quiet voice can still make a difference."
