My name is Rowley and I am a tiger living in the tropical rain forest where it can
get pretty hot throughout the day and cold at
night.

We get about 200 to 450
centimeters of rain a year but
because of the sun we have lots of
different plants and animals.

Thank goodness for plants
Rafflessia Keithii
Glasswing Butterflies

I have lots of friends in the
rain forest to play with like:

Ronaldo!!
Lester!!
Ivan
I'm a carnivore so I love to eat meat. My
favorite foods to eat are pigs, birds and
monkey, though I would never eat my friends
because there's always plenty of others foods
to choose from.

I'm seen as the leader of my group of friends.
If I were not here then the birds might eat up
all the plants and seeds and the monkeys
would eat all the fruits, not saving anything
for the rest of our friends.

Guys Stop!!
Mine!!
mine!!

My home is
important to
everyone in the
world. The rain forest
helps to maintain the
weather, air and
carbon for the
plants.
People look to the
rain forest for
medicines because
of all the different
we have.

One day while I was walking through the
forest with Lester and Rondalo, a patch of
flowers missing from the forest floor.

Guys look over here! The flowers are gone.

As we walked a bit further we noticed
more plants missing. We weren't that
worried at first because there were plant
over every inch of the rain forest.

A few days go by and Rondalo comes up to
me to tells me he's leaving.

There's no food I have to go
Don't go.
It turns out that when the plants started to
disappear, bugs started leaving. With no more
insects to pollinate the plants, the trees began
to disappear too, which meant Rondalo and
his family didn't have a home to live in.

Where's our home?
?????
It's been a few days since the birds left. The trees are
slowly disappearing and now there's flooding and mud
slides happening every other day.

It seemed like a good idea at the time.
Now our water is dirty with mud and the rain
forest is shrinking. All the other animals are
thinking of leaving to find food and shelter but
some don't want to leave the place they were
born.

we need more trees man.
My parents say we might have to leave.
