Christianity started in Judea. It started in the first century AD. The religion began with Jesus's followers after he was crucified.

Christianity is practiced worldwide, but mostly in Europe and North and South America. It is the largest religion in the world today.

Christians go to church on Sunday. It known as the Sabbath day. This is where people honor God by resting just like he rested on the seventh day of creation.

The major belief is that there is one God. He is made up of the Holy Trinity. This trinity is the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. God's son died on the cross for everyone's sin. He is Jesus, the Son of God.

The Bible is the Holy Book. It is split into 2 parts called the Old Testament and the New Testament. The Bible has commandments, stories, advice and teachings from God, and the story of the gospel.

Noah's Ark
After the creation of the earth, the world was filled with people who made bad choices. They did not obey God. There was one man named Noah. He tried to do the right things and obey God. God then warned Noah that he was going to flood the earth. He told Noah to build an ark. Noah trusted God and built a great ark despite all of the people making fun ok him. After the ark was finished, Noah took his family and two of every kind of animal on the boat. It began to rain. It rained for 40 days and 40 nights. The water finally went down. Noah sent out a dove to look for dry land. The dove came back with a olive leaf showing that there was dry land. Soon the water went down, and Noah, his family, and all of the animals came to dry land. God then showed a rainbow in the sky. This was a promise that God would never flood the earth again.

Jesus- He is a key person in the Bible. He is the savior of humanity and the Son of God.
Peter- He was one of Jesus's desciples. After he denied knowing Jesus, he devoted his life to telling everyone about the gospel.
Paul the Apostle- At first, he was a persecutor of Christians, but then he converted to Christianity. He would then go own and spread the gospel across the Roman Empire.

An important symbol is the cross. Jesus was crucified on a cross. It represents the crusifiction and sacrifice Jesus made.

Christmas is celebrated December 25. It celebrated the birth of Jesus Christ. You can get with your family, go to church, and give gifts to represent the ultimate gift of Jesus Christ.

Easter Day represents the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Jesus rose on the 3rd day after he was crucified. This holiday also includes going to a church on Sunday. The day of Easter is on the first Sunday following the first ecclesiastical full moon after March 21. This was the end of Holy week.

Palm Sunday- This is the Sunday before Easter. This day, Jesus rides into the town of Jerusulam on a donkey. It is called palm sunday because the people lined up to welcome Jesus with palm branches. They shouted "Hosannah to the highest". This was the start of Holy week.
