1. Map of Croatia
Croatia is a country in Southeast Europe on the Adriatic Sea, known for its stunning coastline, more than 1,000 islands, and crystal-clear waters. Its capital is Zagreb, and the official language is Croatian. A member of the EU and NATO, Croatia declared independence from Yugoslavia in 1991 and adopted the euro in 2023. The country is famous for historic walled cities like Dubrovnik, numerous UNESCO World Heritage sites, and a cuisine that blends Mediterranean and Central European influences.
2. Nature
Croatia has beautiful nature. It is country with thousand island many national parks: Plitvice Lakes,Krka,Kornati,Paklenica,Mljet ,Brijuni,Risnjak ,Northern Velebit.

3.Food
Croatian food is known for its rich flavors and diverse regional influences. Along the Adriatic coast, seafood dishes such as grilled fish, octopus salad, and black risotto are very popular, reflecting Mediterranean traditions. Inland regions are famous for hearty meals like roasted meats, stews, and sausages. Traditional Croatian cuisine also features local specialties such as peka, a slow-cooked dish prepared under a bell-shaped lid, and delicious desserts like fritule and kremšnita.

2. Map of Czechia (or the Czech Republic)


The Czech Republic or shortly Czechia is a small state in the central Europe.
The capital city is Prague, it is also the largest city in our republic and the seat of our President, Parliament and Government.
3. Nature - mountains, rivers


The natural borders with our nearby states are created by different mountains.
The highest mountain is Sněžka -
1 604 metres in the Giant Mountains.
The longest river in our country is the Vltava, the Labe (Elbe) is one of the major rivers in Europe and it rises in the Giant Mountains. The Morava river is the river which rises and flows through the Moravian part of our republic. Unfortunately we have no access to the sea. We are a landlocked country.

Famous people from the past:
king Charles IV - the founder of Charles University in Prague
Jan Hus - a church reformer
John Amos Comenius - a great educationalist
Thomas Garrigue Masaryk - the first President of our state
Thomas Baťa - the founder of shoe company
Božena Němcová, Karel Čapek, Franz Kafka - the writers
Jaroslav Seifert - the Nobel Prize winner for literacy in 1984
Otto Wichterle - the inventor of soft contact lenses
Karel Gott - the singer
Bedřich Smetana, Antonín Dvořák - the composers
Václav Havel - the first President after the Velvet Revolution

Zdeněk Svěrák - the film director and scenarist
Pavel Nedvěd - the football player and manager
Petr Čech - the football goalkeeper
Martina Sáblíková - the speed-skater

Jaromír Jágr - the ice-hockey player










5. Food
Typical Czech foods are:



Fried cheese with pommes frites and mayonaise
Roast pork meat, dumplings and cabbage
Tenderloin (beef slice) and cream sauce and dumplings

6. Places to visit in our village
Our village is too small to be centre of big tourism but despite of this fact you can visit:
- Hotel Savary
- Swimming pool Riviera and the camp
- the Bartek´s Mill - the birthplace of Comenius
- Church of St. Guardian Angels
- the Holy Trinity Chapel
- the factories - Linea, Adria Gold
and also our school :-)
