Nothing. There isn’t a trace of her here either.
I looked behind the curtains too, but I found only dust.
But how is that possible? They said Peace is everywhere. Where is she hiding?
Maybe if we knew what color she is, it would be easier to find her.
If Peace were a color, she would certainly be white—pure and bright.
I imagine her sky blue, like a calm sea without waves, or like the sky when there isn’t a single cloud.
I think Peace has all the colors together, because Peace welcomes all people, no matter what color they are.
Colors are wonderful, but Peace is not only something you see. You have to feel it too.
That’s right. If Peace were a feeling, it would be like a big hug from your mother after a difficult day.
Like going to sleep at night and knowing that your dreams will be beautiful.
It is the joy you feel when you play with your friends and nobody argues.
It is the serenity you feel when you hear only the sounds of nature.
It is the freedom to breathe clean air.
It is the laughter of children on the playground.
It is the bread that is never missing from the table.
It is the cool water that quenches your thirst.
Yes, yes! All of that sounds wonderful, but I still can’t find it. Could it be that Peace is invisible? Maybe we can never catch it?
Could it simply be a fairy tale? We’ve been searching for so long, and it hasn’t given us a single sign.
Maybe we are looking for it in the wrong way. We are only looking with our eyes.
And how else are we supposed to search? Our eyes are meant to see the world.
The world is not only colors. It is also sounds and scents.
Do you mean Peace can be heard or smelled?
The most important things in life are not always seen at first glance. Let us stop for a moment. We will use all our senses.
Yes! Let’s close our eyes for a little while. Maybe Peace didn’t want us to find her. Maybe she wanted to find us.
It is time to stop talking and start feeling. Come.
Close your eyes.
(The children sit in a semicircle, hold hands, and close their eyes.)
(The sound of wind music is heard.)
Listen! Do you hear that strange whisper? It is the wind passing through the trees in our schoolyard.
And over there? I can hear the birds singing at the top of the tallest trees. They are not arguing about who can fly higher. They are simply singing together.
Take a deep breath.
(They take a deep breath.) Ahhhhhhh!
What do you smell in the air?
It smells like fresh earth! As if it has just rained and the ground has awakened. Peace smells like spring coming to embrace us.
Stretch your hands up high. Do you feel this warmth? The sun is touching our cheeks, and it feels like the gentle touch of a friend when you are feeling a little sad.
Look at your hands.
(Here the children open their eyes.)
What can they do? They can push hard, or they can hold the hand of the person next to them.
They can close a door, or they can open a big embrace.
I understand now!
(Shouts loudly, stands up, runs forward, and sits facing the audience.)
Peace is not something you find ready-made. It is something you create yourself through your actions!
