I live in a small village in Malta. Every year, we celebrate the village feast. It is my favourite time of the year!

One morning, I woke up very excited. I looked out of my window and saw colourful flags hanging in the streets. Red, blue, and yellow lights were shining everywhere.

"Mum, the feast is here!" I shouted.

"Yes," Mum smiled. "Tonight, we will go to the feast together."

When the sun began to set, my family got dressed and walked to the village square.

Many people were there. Children were laughing and playing. Families were talking and taking pictures. Everyone looked happy.

The band marched through the streets and played cheerful music. I clapped my hands to the beat.

Then we visited some stalls. There were toys, balloons, and tasty food. I chose a colourful balloon while my brother bought a small toy car.

Later that night, the sky became dark. Suddenly, a loud bang echoed through the village.

"The fireworks are starting!" shouted my brother.

We looked up at the sky. Bright red, green, and gold fireworks sparkled above us. They looked like shining stars.

"Wow!" I whispered.

The fireworks danced across the sky. Everyone watched in amazement.

When the show ended, people clapped and cheered. It was the perfect ending to a wonderful day.

As we walked home, I smiled.
