School History

 Johnsonville School was built in 1955, serving as High School before transitioning to an Elementary School.

Original Mission of the High School was "To provide an opportunity for negro students to receive an education beyond the elementary grades.

 Johnsonville Elementary was established in 1997.

About the Author:

My name is Matthew Ittersagen, and I am currently the Physical Education teacher at Johnsonville Elementary. 2025-2026 was my first year as a teacher. I have a bachelor's degree in Sports Administration from Liberty University and a master's degree in coaching & administration.

Community Events

 One of Johnsonville Elementary School's most important community events happens every summer. Johnsonville participates each year in FREE simmer meals for kids, running from June 1st through July 30th.

 Two other events Johnsonville Elementary participates in are annual Book fairs & Science fairs. 

Honors Chorus

Johnsonville Elementary School has an outstanding music program. Honors Chorus is one of the many programs that students grade 3-5 are able to participate in. The current music teacher provides students with an excellent opportunity.

JES Robotics

Johnsonville Elementary School offers so many opportunities for kids to explore. One of those AWESOME opportunities is the chance to participate in the Robotics Club. 

Physical Education

At Johnsonville, we believe physical education is extremely important to the overall development of each child. Physical education provides children with the chance to escape the classroom and participate in fun and engaging activities! 9 out of 10 students will say their favorite class is PHYSICAL EDUCATION.
