STEAM education increased environmental awareness. Creativity was encouraged. Students were given opportunities to solve the problems they encountered.

By making abstract concepts concrete, creative thinking, design, and focusing skills were developed.

PROJECT EVALUATION REPORT
The “I Learn Life Skills Through STEAM” eTwinning Project aimed to enable our 7-11 year old students to integrate knowledge from different fields, produce creative solutions to real-life problems, use digital tools consciously and safely, and develop scientific thinking and inquiry habits, in line with the holistic understanding of the Turkish Maarif Model and global citizenship values. The project adopted an interdisciplinary STEAM approach, bringing together science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics.



Skills Acquired Within the Scope of the Project
Literacy Skills
Students' reading and writing skills were improved by encouraging them to construct short and meaningful sentences about STEAM projects, express their thoughts, ask questions, and share their ideas.
They were encouraged to use their imagination by creating their own stories and to internalize fundamental life values.
Their ability to analyze, understand, and think critically about texts was strengthened through 5W1H story evaluation activities.
Mathematical Skills
Their mathematical thinking skills were developed through classification, measurement, pattern creation, and graph preparation activities. Geometric shapes and mathematical relationships were explored through origami activities.


Environmental Awareness and Sustainability
Students learned ways to protect nature by observing changes in their environment and gained awareness of the conscious use of resources.
Environmental awareness was developed by encouraging them to respect plants, animals, and natural habitats.
The vital importance of water was emphasized, creating awareness about resource efficiency and sustainability.
Students became familiar with local and global environmental problems and realized the impact of their individual actions on the environment.
Digital and Technological Skills
They were encouraged to use tablets and computers safely and responsibly.


The fundamental concepts of artificial intelligence and technology were explained in a way that was appropriate for their age level, fostering digital awareness.
Awareness of the responsible use of the internet was created, and digital safety and ethical behavior skills were developed.
Problem Solving and Creativity
Students designed projects using science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics; developing problem-solving and creative thinking skills.
Critical thinking skills were supported by generating solutions to real-life problems.


Interdisciplinary STEAM Applications
Within the scope of the project, STEAM fields were combined with different disciplines such as fairy tales, coding, visual design, intelligence games, artificial intelligence applications, origami, mandala, and civic education to offer multifaceted learning experiences.
Some of the Activities Carried Out:
Nature Love and AI Coloring Activity: Environmental awareness and digital design skills were developed using artificial intelligence tools.
Proverbs and Idioms Visualization and Animation Activity: Abstract concepts were made concrete using the STEAM approach, supporting creative thinking skills.
New Year Greeting Card Activity: Aesthetic expression, fine motor skills, and visual arts skills were developed.


Art Journey with Recycled Yarns: Environmental awareness and creativity are supported by transforming waste materials into artistic products.
Vehicle Design from Recycled Materials: Sustainability, engineering, and problem-solving skills are developed.
Delicious Designs – Life Skills Workshop: Healthy lifestyle habits and creative design skills are supported.
Origami Activities: Hand-eye coordination, attention, patience, and geometric thinking skills are developed.
Collaborative Song and Rhythm Workshop: Teamwork, sense of rhythm, and digital tool use are supported.
Physical Activities and Problem-Solving Exercises: Gross motor skills and analytical thinking skills are developed.


Educational Approaches Used
During the project process, the following approaches were effectively used:
Constructivist learning,

Digital pedagogy.
Students collaborated with peers from different schools to create joint products, making the learning process fun and memorable through board games, puzzles, and various activities.

were prepared and shared inside and outside the school.

These are 21st-century skills that have been developed.
Students have also learned that natural resources are limited and must be protected for future generations, and have understood that protecting nature is both an individual and a societal responsibility.
Learning by doing, experiencing, and applying has supported the well-being of students; especially those with speech or learning disabilities.


An increase in self-confidence and expression skills was observed in the students participating in the project. Positive peer relationships developed, and classroom interaction strengthened.
In conclusion, the project contributed to our students acquiring fundamental life skills in the areas of literacy, mathematics, environment, science, digital literacy, citizenship, and artificial intelligence; it supported their academic development and prepared them for the technological and sustainable world of the future.


PROJE DEĞERLENDİRME RAPORU
“I Learn Life Skills Through STEAM” eTwinning Projesi, 7-11 yaş grubu öğrencilerimizin Türkiye Maarif Modeli’nin bütüncül anlayışı ve küresel vatandaşlık değerleri doğrultusunda; farklı alanlardan edindikleri bilgileri bütünleştirmelerini, gerçek yaşam problemlerine yaratıcı çözümler üretmelerini, dijital araçları bilinçli ve güvenli kullanmalarını, bilimsel düşünme ve sorgulama alışkanlığı kazanmalarını hedeflemiştir. Proje sonunda öğrenciler;


gibi 21. yüzyıl becerilerini geliştirmiştir.
Ayrıca öğrenciler doğal kaynakların sınırlı olduğunu ve gelecek nesiller için korunması gerektiğini öğrenmiş, doğayı korumanın bireysel olduğu kadar toplumsal bir sorumluluk olduğunu da kavramıştır.
Yaparak, yaşayarak ve uygulayarak öğrenme süreçleri öğrencilerin iyi oluş hâllerini desteklemiş; özellikle konuşma veya öğrenme güçlüğü


yaşayan öğrencilerde özgüven ve ifade becerilerinde artış gözlemlenmiştir. Olumlu akran ilişkileri gelişmiş ve sınıf içi etkileşim güçlenmiştir.
Sonuç olarak proje, öğrencilerimizin okuryazarlık, matematik, çevre, bilim, dijital okuryazarlık, vatandaşlık ve yapay zekâ alanlarında temel yaşam becerileri kazanmalarına katkı sağlamış; akademik gelişimlerini destekleyerek onları geleceğin teknolojik ve sürdürülebilir dünyasına hazırlamıştır.
