To my sister, Rithvi because she is the best buddy to be with when you're upset.

Once upon a time there was a girl named Marta; who was a poor girl, but was really smart. People got amazed by her. For that reason people allowed her to go to school.

Ma'am I finished!

Your answers are correct. Good job!

One girl, Celia just wasn't having it. She took advantage of Marta. "Hey poor girl. You can't to anything. You're just nothing," Celia sneered.

You're nothing
I'm something. I'm smarter than you think I am.
After lunch our principal, Ms. Hernandez made an announcement. "We must all be kind to other people. Also may I have 5th grader Celia Winniger please report to my office please."

Rm.14
Celia knocked on the door. "Come in," Ms. Hernandez said. Celia entered the room.
Ms. Hernandez looked at her sharply. "Celia. Don't be rude to Marta. She is smarter than she looks. I will be calling to your parents and writing to Marta . I'm disappointed."

Ms. Hernandez wrote a letter to Marta first.
Marta was relieved that Celia was getting shifted to another class, but was still un happy about being treated like this. She was so unhappy, she isolated her best friend Jenna on the bus.
Dear Marta,
I'm very sorry you got treated this way. Celia is just one of those rude people. Don't worry Celia will get shifted to another class. If you get treated like this again, tell your parents to call me.

"Mom I got bullied at school by a girl named Celia." "Why?" Ms. Alvarez asked. "Our poorness," Marta replied. "In this situation, be yourself. Don't pay them any mind. Just say, I'm believing in myself and I'm perfect just the way I am", Ms. Alvarez replied.
The next day Celia came on the bus she said, "You poor girl, what did you get me into? Do you know who's class I am getting shifted into? Miss B's class. She's the strictest teacher in the school!" Celia said harshly.

"Don't talk to me that way. I sew my own clothes, make my own shoes and I'm smarter than an 8th grader. Who cares if I'm poor? I'm just being myself. "Let's go Jenna. Let's get away from this meanie," Marta said.

When Marta got to her classroom, she wrote Ms. Hernandez a letter.
Dear Ms. Hernandez,
I got treated badly on the bus by Celia again. Mother taught me a valuable lesson about being myself. It really helps. I think Celia finally realized she was being mean.
Sincerely,
Marta Alvarez
Marta sent the letter to Ms. Hernandez later that day, and Ms. Hernandez was delighted to hear that Marta learned a valuable lesson.
The next morning, Marta was surprised to see Celia saving a seat for her. Marta and Jenna sat down with her. Celia apologized to Marta. When Marta arrived in her classroom, she saw a letter from the principal on her desk.
Dear Marta,
I'm happy to hear that you stood up for yourself. Jenna told me all about what you did yesterday. I'm proud. You're super smart and you could do anything if you tried! You're the most confident student I've met in my whole 24 years I've been teaching. Keep your high vibes on.
