Kory loved school.  He enjoyed art, recess, and reading stories with friends.  But sometimes reading words and following directions was difficult.  He would think "Why is this so easy for everyone else?"

Kory's teacher noticed he was trying his best every day. she gave him a smile and said, "We're going to figure this out together."

The school wanted to learn how Kory learned best, so they gave him different activities and had him solve problems in different ways.  They wanted to understand his strengths and how he learns.

After the testing, everyone met together. Kory's teacher, principal, the special education teacher, and his parents together made a plan just for Kory.

Kory's parents shared ideas that worked at home with his teachers and Kory felt loved because everyone wanted to help him succeed. 

The next day, Kory received extra help with reading, they included picture clues, was given extra time to complete work, and was given books that matched his reading level.
