Benny woke up and rushed to the window. He barked and barked and barked, then he scrambled all around in bed. He jumped up and saw the calendar. 

    It was next week! He jumped around and jumped around, and barked and barked and barked! Then, Nick came out with a bouquet of flowers. He was dressed in a tuxedo, with a brown tie and brown shoes.

    "Good morning Benny!" he said, a bright smile on his face, "How are you? I'm off to deliver flowers to Carrol's house just down the road, wanna come?" Benny barked and jumped. Mrs. Carrol was the old lady who always smelled like rough bark on a tree. She was kind to Benny, and always gave him cookies to munch on while she and Nick talked. Nick smiled, and grabbed the white leash wrapped around the front door cabinet. The metal handle jingled, and Benny waited silently without moving, while Nick put it 

on him.

    Benny trotted and Nick walked, humming My Fair Lady. When they got to Mrs. Carrol's house, she opened the door gladly and welcomed Benny and Nick in. She gave Benny a bowl of water, and a plate of cookies, and Benny gobbled them up. When he was done eating, Nick was at the door, and waving to Mrs. Carrol. He grabbed the leash, and whistled for Benny to come. Benny happily hobbled over, and sat while Nick talked to Mrs. Carrol more, and tied the leash around his neck. Then, they walked out the door. A little while later, Benny was playing in the yard with Frisky and Poosh. He told them about his Birthday party coming up in one week,

and thy all jumped with excitment.

    "I'll also be inviting an old friend of mine," Benny thought of Thomas, "he's golden with black eyes." Poosh drooled, and Frisky jumped up and down.

    "Thomas happy to see Poosh me-um,-er, me-I'm happy see to Thomas Poosh,"

    "Your happy to see Thomas Poosh?" Frisky asked politely.

    "Yes! its that-er," Poosh answered. Right then, Erica came popping over.

    "What's the ruckus?" she asked. They all spoke at once. Frisky said, "Its a party!"

Benny said, "I'm excited!"

and Poosh said, "Birthday Benny's party cake!-er." 

    Whoa whoa whoa!" Erica held up a paw, "Benny, what were you saying?" Benny answered, "I'm having a birthday party, and I'm inviting all of you, and an old friend!" he exclaimed, "his name is Thomas, and he's a golden Labrador retriever." Erica's face lit up, "a party?!"

Yes!" they all exclaimed. 

    Later that night, Nick called Jessica to tell her about Benny's party. She agreed, and asked him what she should bring. He told her just some snacks like cookies to munch on. After their long talk, Nick called Betty, Thomas's

owner. He asked if she could come and she agreed as well. Then, she asked what she should bring, and he said pineapple juice, Benny's favorite. 

    Frisky practically jumped out of bed four days later. It was now three days until the party. She had made her own calendar with an old

one, and cut the bottom so

it only showed a week's

time. She was very happy

knowing that the party was

only a few days away!

She was also happy because she LOVED her mad art skills. She hopped the whole day, knowing that the party was VERY soon! But then she realized she hadn't found a gift for Benny! Uh-oh!

But luckily for her, 

her owner, Julia had

found out that day

about the party!

    "Alright Frisk-o,

how 'bout it? We'll

go get a gift for Benny

right now?" she asked. Frisky happily jumped up and down, and Julia tied her with her leash. She took Frisky to Pet-co, and they hopped in the door. They had been searching for hours until finally Frisky meowed, and found the right choice! She thought is was a perfect gift!

And it even said Benny!

"Oh!" Julia gasped, "that is beautiful!" she exclaimed. Julia bought it, and now Frisky had the satisfaction of Benny's birthday! She just KNEW that he was going to like it.

    Tomorrow came rolling in just like yesterday did, and Frisky crossed another day of her customized calendar. Then, she was rummaging in the closet when she found a beautiful gift! It was black with golden dots all over fading from yellow to white. She grabbed it and found some tissue paper to stuff the present with. After all that, she decided to go over to Jessica's. Luckily all the animals were out except for Benny, so they could all discuss the party coming up. 

Frisky hobbled over and asked all of the pets if they'd gotten a gift for Benny.

    "I decided to give him a food bowl," said Thomas, he'd already came since his house was hours away. They happily greeted him, told him their names, and loved his gift idea.

    "Carry suggested a signature purrfume," Erica said, Carry was her owner.

    "Poosh gives Benny a bed is doggy-er," Poosh said.

    "A dog bed?!" Frisky said, "Cool!" Poosh couldn't help it, his face cracked open a tiny grin.

Frisky squirmed and wiggled in her bed, she was dreaming of Benny's face when he saw the gift she had gotten him. What if he didn't like it?! 

    Finally the big day came. Frisky crossed the last day off her calendar and put on her best collar. Then, she grabbed her bottle of kitty's delight perfume, and sprayed one spritz, since it was a little strong. She meowed and jumped on Julia's bed to wake her, the party was about to start in a one hour. Julia woke up, and Frisky showed her her home made calendar.

    "Oh my goodness!" Julia exclaimed, we'll be late! She rushed over to her wardrobe, dressed, and brushed her teeth, then she quickly hopped on her work computer

and checked some things, then tied Frisky's leash around her neck, and they were out. 

Erica heard Frisky's car door slam, and smiled just as Erica's owner was pulling out onto the road. Frisky would be ready, she thought, she was wondering when they were going to leave.

    The moment Julia pulled in, Frisky jumped up an  down! They weren't late! She meowed as Julia picked her up and grabbed her leash. Frisky happily pranced along with Julia, her head high, as she greeted Nick, and let Frisky roam free.

Benny waved a paw to gesture over to him. Frisky ran over and he asked if she liked the party so far, how it was set up.
