For everyone with an imagination!

It was Thursday or Friday, no, it all started on Tuesday. I know this because I was wearing my Tuesday turtle pajamas with milk spilled down the front from my bedtime snack. I always have cereal before I brush my teeth and kiss my stuffed animals goodnight. Anyway, that doesn’t matter. What matters is, I woke up on Wednesday, that’s the day after Tuesday, and everything was all wrong!

The first wrong thing was, I was under my bed. I don’t know why I was under there, but something felt sticky and my hair was stuck to whatever it was. It could have been the chewing gum my mom always tells me I shouldn’t chew, because it will make all my teeth fall out of my head. That hasn’t happened yet, but just to be safe, when my grandpa lets me have gum, I try not to chew it for long, in case my mom is right. So, I might have decided…

to save my gum by putting it on my shoes for the night. I don’t see anything on my shoes. Anyway, the second wrong thing was what I saw from under my bed.

When I looked out from under the bed, I saw water drops all over my floor, even on my blue rug. The water drops started over by my aquarium. It is the aquarium I got for my birthday last year. I turned five and I had a superhero party, with chocolate cupcakes. But anyway, those water drops went out my door, into the hallway.

This was not right! I had to find out why the floor had water spots all over. I worked on getting myself unstuck from the gum situation and crawled out from under my bed. I followed the wet trail out of my room. The water spots went down the hallway past my sister’s room, past the bathroom and went down the stairs to the kitchen. I guessed I should go that way, too.

The water spots trailed through the kitchen and out the back door. I went out the door, too. The water spots went along the creek by our house. I followed the water spots as they trailed along the creek.

I followed the trail of water spots for a long time, probably five minutes, or something. I was still wearing my pajamas, and had gum stuck to my hair.

I followed the water spots until they stopped. There, before my sleepy eyes, was the weirdest thing I ever saw. My goldfish, Mike, was there with a whole bunch of other fish. There were big ones, small ones, older ones and younger ones, too. They were all wearing baseball hats, and were eating cereal out of old boots!

The fish were all laughing and telling jokes but stopped as soon as they saw me. They put their boots of cereal down, and jumped into the creek right away. There was a lot of splashing, and the fish were going in all directions.
