This story is about a woman named Helen Keller. From a young age, she wasn’t able to see or hear anything. But she never let that stop her from achieving her goals. She is an important figure to show no matter your challenges you can chase any dream you have.

When Helen Keller was first born. She was perfectly healthy. She was living her life as a young child should, just happy and playful. But in February 1882, she contracted an illness called “Brain fever,” Or what is known today as scarlet fever.

For the next five years of her life, she was exploring the world through only touch. She would only communicate with sign language that her family created, such as pulling on her sleeves for yes and shaking her head for no. They had an estimated 60 signs they had created to help her with her day-to-day life.

Unfortunately, even with their at-home sign, she would still get angry and frustrated. She would mainly get angry because she couldn’t understand the people around her. Of course, that could be really frustrating.

Once Annie moved in with Helen Keller, she was able to help her control her emotions through language and understanding. She was able to use a pioneering technique better known as Touch teaching. She is most famous for the moment when she held Helen’s hands underwater and spilled water in her hand, so she had a better understanding of the concept of names for objects

From there, she was able to learn a new way to communicate with the world and learn a new way of life. Anne remained Helen's guide and friend for the next 50 years. She even went to university and got her Bachelor of Arts at Radcliffe College in 1904.
