It was a bright sunny day at Thriving Scholars School were there is a lot of laughter, friends playing and exploring different things outside. But one child stood alone under the big tree.

Her name was Maya and it was her first day at school. She was very scared and felt very nervous. She wanted to make friends but she didn't know how to.

Lulu noticed that Maya was standing by herself. Lulu walked over to Maya and asked if she would like to play with them. 

Maya was so happy and said yes!

So Maya and Lulu walked over to the other friends and they began to laugh and play together. This made Maya really happy.

Very soon they were playing catch, soccer, building sand castles and playing with trucks. Maya and her friends were so happy.

Maya made so many new friends today at school. She was scared at first but then she became happy. She went home and told her mom, dad, brother and sister all about her friends and she can not wait to see them tomorrow!
