Chapter 1: Loneliness

"Stevenson," Shila said, "why are you so sad? You used to be so happy and cheerful that I had to tell you to stop being so excited and loud! What's wrong?" Stevenson sighed sadly. "I just miss having pets. It was so lovely having to take care of something. But ever since all our pets escaped, life just seemed ... kind of empty. Oh well." Stevenson slowly trudged away in loneliness while Shila watched him, feeling quite bad and sorry for him.
Soon, it became nighttime, and Shila went to her bedroom and talked to Rayna about Stevenson's loneliness. At first, Rayna was skeptical that Stevenson was ever sad, considering him usually acting joyful, but after a moment of convincing, Rayna figured out a plausible solution. "Why not get a pet for Stevenson himself?". "Well," said Shila thinking about it, "I'm not sure. Pets are expensive."

"Think about it," said Rayna, "I don't want Stevenson to be lonely." Soon afterwards, both twins hit the hay. "Lonely", Shila thought. "Lonely"
Shila's always been with her twin sister, Rayna, and couldn't imagine life without her. And he didn't want Stevenson to be all alone, too. It'd be really sad. And after a night of thinking and careful consideration, she decided to get Stevenson a pet, first thing in the morning.

Eventually, the sun rose, shining over the town. Shila immediately woke up and ran straight to Stevenson. "Wake up, Stevenson!" yelled Shila excitedly. "What?" said Stevenson drowsily. "Let's go to the pet store!"

"The pet store?" exclaimed Stevenson, discombobulated and confused. "We're going to get a pet for you!" shouted Shila. They put on their clothes, brushed their teeth, and sprinted outside as fast as they could.
After lots and lots of tiring runs, they finally made it to the pet store. They took a moment to catch their breath and then saw the display of animals: fish, lizards, snakes, cats, dogs, and, of course, a parrot. More specifically, it was a blue-and-yellow parrot.

Chapter 2: The Parrot

The macaw at the pet store was the only macaw there. All the other parrots who were formerly there were taken to their forever families' homes to live a happy life. All except that one parrot. Stevenson stared into his eyes and got a weird, suspicious vibe. "Shila," Stevenson whispered. "Let's get out of here. That parrot gives me the heebie-jeebies. "
"No!" shouted Shila. "A parrot's already expensive enough!" "Well, can we get a gerbil?" questioned Stevenson. "They're sold out!" said Shila. "Plus, all other pets are even more expensive than a parrot. We're getting a parrot." "But he gives me a serious case of the heebie-jeebies!"
"Nonsense!" "Excuse me," she said to the cashier, "I'd like to buy your parrot." "Oh, him? Alrighty then." He gave the parrot to Shila, and Shila gave the parrot to Stevenson. "Oh boy!" Stevenson thought while carrying the parrot's cage.

On the way home, Shila asked Stevenson, "What are you going to name your pet parrot?" At first, Stevenson hesitated. It was obvious that Stevenson was unsure of the parrot. But he liked naming stuff and named him anyway. He tried to think of a name, but, unfortunately, he drew a blank. Then, he saw a man on the other side of the street, sitting on a bench, wearing a hat, and eating a banana. That's when Stevenson came up with the name...
"Mr. BananaHat!" "WHAT!?" Shila responded in shock. "Why would you call a parrot Mr. BananaHat?" "Because he looks like a BananaHat." "OK, then." Shila said, rolling her eyes. After walking for a long time, they eventually made it home. Shila put Mr. BananaHat's cage on a table, let him exit, and said, "Mr. BananaHat, welcome to our home!" "Yeah, welcome to our home." Stevenson reluctantly said.
Chapter 3: Naughty Mr. BananaHat

"Hello, Mr. BananaHat!" said Shila, introducing herself. "I'm Shila!" "I'm Shila! I'm Shila!" squawked Mr. BananaHat. Shila chuckled. "You're very funny, Mr. BananaHat! "Hey! What are you doing?" Rayna questioned. "We're playing with Stevenson's pet parrot!" exclaimed Shila. "Did someone say pet parrot?" asked Jake. Jake was Stevenson's older brother, though he was shyer. He still loved parrots, however, and eventually, even his parents played with Mr. BananaHat.

Soon, they got tired and went to their rooms. Meanwhile, Stevenson suddenly felt thirsty and went to the kitchen to find a drink. Curious about what Stevenson was doing, Mr. BananaHat followed him and saw... it. Mr. BananaHat thought it was a shiny, magical, mesmerizing object from an unknown world. It was actually just a refrigerator. Mr. BananaHat didn't know that, though, and he went straight at it.

Mr. BananaHat couldn't take his eyes off the fridge, with its letter magnets and its large handle. "Hmm..." said Stevenson, contemplating. "Maybe a drink is in the fridge!" Stevenson walked to the fridge and opened it, and Mr. BananaHat suddenly became even more in awe of the fridge's insides than the fridge's outsides. There were broccoli, bananas, apples, kiwis, bell peppers, leftover chocolate, and one carton of milk.
Mr. BananaHat couldn't resist pecking at the fridge's contents. His curiosity got the better of him. He flapped toward the refrigerator, ignored the cool air, and started pecking at the contents. "Hey!" shouted Stevenson. "You're not allowed to do that!" Startled by Stevenson's yelling, the parrot flew away, accidentally knocking some containers off the countertop. He flew back into the living room, while Stevenson looked at the mess Mr. BananaHat made. Stevenson sighed. "Maybe thing will get better." Stevenson thought.
Sigh... It didn't.
Wherever Stevenson went, Mr. BananaHat followed, and eventually creating craziness, whether it was making vases fall or untidying up the twins' room. And you know what was even worse?
Chapter 4: The Family Meeting

After a week of the family dealing with Mr. BananaHat's craziness, they just couldn't handle it. Their patience had run out. At dinner, they had a family meeting about it. "Thing have really gotten out of hand." said Shila. "This week has been very wild and it's starting to become annoying. That's because someone has been causing chaos ever since we got Mr. BananaHat. And I know who is causing it."
"Yes!" thought Stevenson. "They'll have to return him for his atrocious behaviour! Then I will never have to deal with him again!" Well, remember when Mr. BananaHat was causing craziness. They thought Stevenson was responsible. "Stevenson, for causing so much trouble, you're grounded for a week. Stevenson was shocked.
"What!?" shouted Stevenson. "You seriously thought I did this?!" "You did start acting weird when you got Mr. BananaHat," replied Shila. "Because I never wanted him in the first place!" yelled Stevenson. Mr. BananaHat was the one who did it." "Don't make excuses!" said Shila. Stevenson was beginning to get mad. His skin got red, and he clenched his fists very tightly.

"ARRGH!!! I'M NOT MAKING EXCUSES! THAT RIDICULOUS BIRD THAT I NEVER ASKED FOR IS THE ONE DOING AND I WISH WE NEVER ADOPTED HIM BECAUSE I HATE HIM SOOOOOOO MUUUUUUUCCCCHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

"OK, Stevenson, calm-" "NO! "interrupted Stevenson. "I'M NOT GOING TO CALL DOWN UNTIL THIS PARROT LEAVES MY HOME AND NEVER EVER RETURNS! I DON'T EVEN WANT TO BREATHE THE SAME AIR AS HIM!" "Stop speaking in that tone this instant, or you'll be grounded for 2 weeks," Shila said sternly. "I DON'T CARE IF YOU GROUND ME FOR 2 YEARS!" hollered Stevenson. He loudly stomped to his bedroom, lying on his bed angrily.
Thirty minutes passed, and Stevenson was still lying there when he heard a "Knock, Knock!". He didn't open it, so Shila let herself in. "Stevenson, are you okay?" asked Shila. Stevenson didn't answer. Shila asked again. "Stevenson, why were you so angry earlier?" "Because!" said Stevenson. "You blamed me for something I didn't do." "But Stevenson," replied Shila. "Even if you did it, you shouldn't yell nontheless" "I know, said Stevenson. "But-"
Stevenson paused for a second. "I just... don't like Mr. BananaHat." Shila felt disappointed. She got Stevenson a pet for him because he was lonely, and now he was just sad. She didn't know what to do. Shila left Stevenson's bedroom and thought about what to do. As Stevenson lay in his bedroom, Mr. BananaHat sat in his birdcage, feeling bad, and decided to become nicer for Stevenson to stop being sad.
Chapter 5: The Bond

The next day, Mr. BananaHat flew into the kitchen, pulled the letter magnet off the fridge and then flew back into the living room. Soon, Stevenson woke up and went downstairs when he noticed Mr. BananaHat holding a letter magnet. At first, Stevenson was confused. But then, Mr. BananaHat suddenly flew towards him. Stevenson was still a bit confused, but he realized that it was an apology gift for him.

Instead of feeling happy about it, though, Stevenson felt conflicted. Even though Mr. BananaHat was a bit chaotic, he wasn't intentionally being mean. Stevenson wished he wasn't so rude and felt regretful. "Mr. BananaHat, I'm sorry I was so mean to you. Could you forgive me?" apologized Stevenson. At first, Mr. BananaHat just stood there, and Stevenson began to wonder whether he would forgive him.
But then, Mr. BananaHat dropped the gift and flew towards Stevenson, affectionately head-nuzzling Stevenson. Stevenson's heart started feeling warm. The next couple of days, Stevenson and Mr. BananaHat started to hang out more often, whether it was taking a walk together, watching some TV, or just lying on the comfy grass in the backyard, they had fun and a relationship formed.
Chapter 6: The Loss

Stevenson was excited to begin a new day and play with Mr. BananaHat, but he noticed something. Mr. BananaHat wasn't in his birdcage or anywhere in the living room at all. Confused, he checked the kitchen. He wasn't there. He checked Jake's room. He wasn't there. He checked the twins' rooms, and he wasn't there. He started double-checking, but he couldn't find him anywhere.
Stevenson was beginning to lose hope when Shila suddenly came in. "Stevenson..." Shila said, tired, "You were making such a ruckus in my room and woke me up! What's going on?" "I was looking for Mr. BananaHat! Where is he? Do you know where he is? Where is he?!" Stevenson exclaimed nervously. "You said yourself you absolutely despised
Mr. BananaHat, so I decided the right thing to do was to return him tot he pet store." said Shila.
“WHAT?!?!?!” yelled Stevenson. "But I'm friends with him now! Can you get him back? Pleeeeeeeeeeee...ease?" begged Stevenson. "I'm sorry, but a parrot is remarkably expensive. I want to buy him again for you, but we can't afford it," said Shila. Stevenson was absolutely shattered. His friend was gone and he would never see him again. It felt horrible to have his friend taken away. He walked upstairs back to hs bedroom, upset, sad and lonely again.

Soon, he started to miss his friend so much that he sobbed and kept sobbing. He cried, wailed, wept, blubbered, and bellyached. I want to say more, but I'm running out of syllables. Stevenson was incredibly sad without his best friend, Mr. BananaHat. He didn't even stop crying; he kept weeping for three days.
After three days, everyone started to get sick of his crying, even Stevenson. Stevenson got out of bed, wiped his tears and said, "I miss Mr. BananaHat a lot, but I can't be depressed for the rest of eternity! I've got to get Mr. BananaHat back, but how?" Stevenson's mind began to formulate a plan. "If we can't buy Mr. BananaHat again because we can't afford it, why don't I raise money so I can!" thought Stevenson.
Chapter 7: The Old Lady

The next day, Stevenson woke up and immediately ran downstairs. He started dragging the table out onto the street when Shila heard the commotion upstairs. "What are you doing, Stevenson?" she asked sleepily. "You'll see," answered Stevenson. He went into the kitchen, grabbed a pitcher, filled it with water, and got some lemons and a lot of sugar. "Shila!" yelled Stevenson. "Help me cut these lemons!"
Shila came to the kitchen and looked at the countertop. "Whoa!" she said. "Are you making a lemonade stand?" she asked. "I am making a lemonade stand!" said Stevenson as Shila started chopping the lemons. "I'm doing it to raise money!" he said as he wrote a sign for his stand. "Why do you need money? Your allowance isn't that low." Shila said. "You'll see," said Stevenson. "Oh, and by the way, thanks for chopping the lemons!" "You'll see?" thought Shila. "Why does he keep saying 'You'll see '?"
