Ms. Osegueda loved being a teacher. Every day, she would fill her classroom with many books, lots of colors, and big ideas! and of course, she could never forget her iced coffee!. However, what she loved the most was helping her students discover and reach their full potential, and seeing just how much they can do.

One Monday morning, Ms. Osegueda smiled at her class. "Today we are going to try something new!" she announced. Most of the children smiled and cheered, all but one student named Tito.

Tito loved listening to stories and imagining he is in one. He could imagine castles, dragons, faraway places, and so much more. However, when it was his turn to read or write by himself, his stomach always felt wiggly and like he had butterflies. 

At home, Tito's family always reminded him that learning took patience and that it's okay to make mistakes. They told him stories about times when they had to work hard and keep trying, even when times got difficult. 

Tito spoke English at school and Spanish with his family. Sometimes he worried that he would not remember the right English word, and he would get made fun of. Ms.Osegueda told him "Knowing two languages is something to be proud of, not be ashamed of. It is part of who you are". This made Tito feel better. 

That day, the class was going to read a new story together. When Ms.Osegueda asked for volunteers, Tito stayed very quiet. He was nervous. "What if I say a word wrong?" he wondered. 

After story time, Ms.Osegueda sat besides Tito. "You do not have to do this alone," she said. They looked at the first word together. Tito sounded it slowly. "I...can...do this," he whispered. 

Soon, Tito found another tricky word. This time, instead of giving up, Tito raised his hand. "Can you help me Ms.Osegueda?" he asked. Ms.Osegueda smiled. Asking for help is NOT giving up. It is another way of learning
