Emotions are tricky.

Sometimes they come out of nowhere.

Sometimes they grow so big, they gobble you up before you even notice!

But feelings don't always need to be fixed.

Sometimes, they just need you to see them.

I call this the Art of Noticing.

There once was a cloud, not terribly tall,
In fact, when I met it, it wasn't big at all.

It floated behind me wherever I'd go.
Why it was there, I really didn't know.

When I tripped and fell down, it turned a bit gray.

But I picked myself up 

and went on with my day.

When someone cut in front of me, while waiting in line,

It grew a bit more, but I said, “I was fine.”

When my picture got ripped, though I'd worked really hard.

A rumble rolled loudly across the schoolyard.

Then someone bumped into me! 

I spilled all my glue!!

I tried to stay calm, like I usually do.

But the cloud had grown bigger than ever before.

And suddenly…

!!BOOM!!

It couldn't hold anymore!

My hands became fists.
My cheeks became red.
The thunder grew louder
And crashed in my head.

The wind howled and blew!
It burned on my face.
My heart started pounding.
I stomped in my place.
