It was a warm, June day, and this morning, me, my mother, and my younger sister, Sharon, went to the mountains for a picnic. While we were there, we played tennis and fed the mother duck and her four ducklings some of our bread. "Look how cute those ducks are," Sharon said. "I want those ducks as pets." "We are not taking those ducks home, Sharon," Mom replies, "Dad has a surprise for us when we get home."

"Is it a duck?" Sharon asks. "I cannot tell you, because it will ruin the surprise," Mom tells her. We enter the car and Mom drives us home through the forest. "I am sure we will both love it, Sharon," I tell Sharon. "I hope it's a duck," she replies. "You love ducks, don't you?" I ask her. "Yes," she answers.

When we got home, we saw Dad holding an adorable little pug. He looked like a potato with fur. "Hi ladies. How was your picnic?" He asked. "It was amazing," I told him. "We fed the ducks and played tennis." "I am so glad you ladies had fun," Dad said. "Penny, Hadley, and Sharon, meet your new puppy Rocky."

"What a darling pug," Mom said as Dad handed him to her. "He is not a duck, but he is still a silly rascal," Sharon said. "Can I hold him next?" I ask. "Yes Hadley," Mom replies as she hands him to me.

"ROCKY I AM GOING TO LOVE YOU FOREVER AND EVER!" I cheer.

"SHHHHHH! Not so loud. Dogs are sensitive to loud noises," Mom explains. "It's not fair!" I exclaim. "I love him!" "You do not want to make him afraid of you. He's a puppy," Dad replies. "Speak to him calmer next time."

I was so angry that I put him on the ground. Just then, he pees on the floor.
