This is Pip. Pip lives with his mom and is very happy.

Pip loves his mom.
Every day, Pip and his mom talk and talk.
They have very important things to say to each other.

Pip has another favorite human. Her name is Persephone, but everyone calls her Percy.
Pip likes Percy because she is little, just like him.
They sing together.
They dance together. Sometimes, they get very silly.

Pip loves his home too, and all the people who love him.
But there is one thing Pip dreams about—the garden outside.
More than anything, Pip wants to explore it.

Then one day, it happened.
Someone left the door open!
Pip decided this was the day.
He was finally going to explore the garden.
For the first time in his life, Pip is outside—flying free!

Pip flew and flew until his little wings grew tired.
At last, he found a tree and stopped to rest.

Pip looked around.
The garden didn’t look familiar anymore.
“Oh no,” Pip whispered.“I think I’m lost.”
Pip saw another bird sitting in the tree. He flew over to say hello.
“Hi! I’m Pip. I think I’m lost.”
“I’m Christopher,” said the bird. “I’m a robin. I’m new to this garden too. I’m sorry, Pip. I don’t know where your home is.”
Next, Pip spotted a beautiful golden bird at a feeder.
“Hello! Do you know where my home is?” Pip asked.
But the golden bird was too busy eating seeds to answer.
Pip loved seeds, too, but right now, he just wanted to find his way home.
