Eloise sat in the classroom. Her teacher, Mrs. Carson asked everyone to read aloud. Eloise was nervous because reading was hard for her.

"Good morning, today everyone will read aloud to the class," said Mrs. Carson.

When it was Eloise's turn, she had trouble reading the words. Some students laughed at her. Eloise felt embarrassed and wanted to dissapear.

"The tree waved at the cat," Eloise said nervously.

"Haha Eloise can't read," Tomy said.

When Mrs. Carson heard this, she made it clear that teasing students for their differences would not be accepted.

"Quiet down Tomy, we don't make fun of our classmates," said Mrs. Carson sternly.

Mrs. Carson checks on Eloise and explains that everyone learns differently. She explains that there is nothing to be upset about because of the challenges she faces.

"You are smart, and everyone learns differently, that doesn't mean you should be upset with yourself," Mrs. Carson said kindly.

Mrs. Carson explains to the class that everyone learns in their own way, and that making fun of someone is hurtful.

Eloise felt happy that her teacher stood up for her.
