One day Lizzy was reading her favorite storybook, when she noticed half of the story was missing! Certain words disappeared, and now Lizzy can't understand the story! It is frozen in time.

"The bunny _____ across the forest"

"Mr. Dragon _____ through the sky"

Suddenly, a magical force sucked Lizzy into the story itself, where all of the action was frozen in time!

A fairy jumped out at Lizzy and called herself the Verb Fairy. "The story stopped, because the verbs went away!' the Verb Fairy cried

Confused, Lizzy asked what the fairy meant. "Verbs are words that show action. Without them, stories do not have movements or actions," the fairy replied. "Remember how your story said "The bunny ___ across the meadow? Because the verb was missing, the story was frozen!"

"How can we fix this?" Lizzy cried out. The fairy calmly replied, "No worries, we just need to find those verbs!"

Slowly, Lizzy and the Verb fairy pieced together the story by finding the verbs.

"The bunny hopped across the forest."

"Mr. Dragon flew across the sky."

"The princess danced in the ballroom"

Before they knew it, the story was moving again. Bunnies hopped, dragons flew, and princesses danced again.

When the story was finally pieced together Lizzy returned to her home. Her book was complete again. "Now that the story has verbs, it is no longer frozen!" she thought to herself. She continued to read the story, now full of action again, glad she had found the missing verbs.
