CURIOUS - Wanting to learn or know something

MYSTERIOUS - Strange or Hard to explain

My name is Timmy, and I am a hamster!
I live in a cozy little burrow with my family. I love sunflower seeds, running on my wheel, and reading spooky stories.
One rainy afternoon, I found a dusty old book underneath my bed.
I was very CURIOUS about what was inside. Little did I know, this book would change my life forever!

The book was called The Legend of the Headless Horse Munchkin.
"What a weird name!" I squeaked.
I opened the first page. There were pictures of spooky forests, tiny horses, and a headless creature carrying a giant pumpkin.
At the bottom of the page, I spotted some strange words:
"Read these words aloud, and the rider shall appear!"
I should have closed the book right then. But I didn't.

I read the words out loud.
"Pumpkin moon and shadows bright, bring the rider here tonight!"
Suddenly, the room shook!
WHOOSH! Purple smoke filled the air. My books flew off the shelves, and my hamster wheel spun backward.
"Oh, sunflower seeds!" I yelled.
I had accidentally SUMMONED something from the book!

Out of the smoke rode a tiny black pony.
On its back sat a headless creature wearing a ragged cape. Instead of a head, it carried a glowing pumpkin!
"I AM THE HEADLESS HORSE MUNCHKIN!" it shouted.
The creature pointed its pumpkin at me.
"WHO DARES AWAKEN ME?"
I squeaked so loudly that three sunflower seeds fell out of my cheek pouches.
This was definitely not in my afternoon plans!

The Headless Horse Munchkin galloped around my house, knocking over furniture and stealing everyone's snacks.
He even ate my emergency sunflower seed stash!
"Hey! Those were for emergencies!" I shouted.
He laughed a creepy little laugh.
"SOON, THIS WHOLE BURROW WILL BELONG TO ME!"
I spotted my little sister hiding behind a flowerpot. I knew I had to do something before things got worse.

The Horse Munchkin spotted me with the book and charged!
"STOP READING, LITTLE RODENT!"
I dashed through the garden, clutching the book tightly.
I jumped over a mushroom, slid under a log, and narrowly escaped his pumpkin-shaped lasso.
My paws were shaking, but I remembered my family hiding back home.
I needed COURAGE. I had to keep going!
