I love you all more than words could ever say.
With all my love,
Grandma

A New Friend
One sunny morning, Mrs. Taylor welcomed a new student named Maya to her Pre-K classroom. Maya smiled shyly and held her favorite teddy bear.
" Good morning, Maya !" Mrs. Taylor said. "We are happy you are here!"
Different and Special
Maya looked around the classroom. Some children had curly hair, some had straight hair, and everyone had different favorite things.
“I like to paint,” said Jordan.
“I like to build with blocks,” said Sam.
“I love to dance!” said Mia.

Can I Play?
Maya saw a group of children building a big block tower. She wanted to join them, but she felt nervous.
Mrs. Taylor smiled and asked, " What could we say to help Maya feel welcomed?"
Jordan waved, " Come build with us, Maya!"
Working Together
The children worked together to build a tall tower. Sam passed Maya a block, and Mia helped her find the perfect place for it.
" Teamwork makes our tower stronger!" Jordan said. Everyone laughed when the tower wobbled but stayed standing.
Families Share Stories
That afternoon, the children brought favorite books from home. Maya shared a story her grandmother read to her every night.
“My grandma makes up funny voices for all the characters,” Maya explained.
The children asked questions and shared stories about their own families.
Learning New Words
Mrs. Taylor introduced three new words: welcome, respect, and belong.
“Welcome means making someone feel glad to be here,” she explained.
“Respect means treating others with care,” added Jordan.
“Belong means you are an important part of our group,” said Maya proudly.

Our Friendship Garden
The class planted flower seeds in small cups. Each child decorated a cup with their name and favorite color.
“Every flower is different,” said Mia.
“And every flower helps make our garden beautiful!” Maya replied.
Everyone Belongs
At the end of the day, Mrs. Taylor asked, “What did we learn about friendship?”
“We can invite others to play,” said Sam.
“We can listen to each other’s stories,” said Jordan.
“We can be kind even when someone is different from us,” said Maya.
Mrs. Taylor smiled. “In our classroom, everyone belongs!”
