It was Monday morning. Ambria was excited to go to school. She packed her backpack, put on her shoes, and got ready for the day.

She liked seeing her friends and learning something new each day. Today, she noticed something different when she walked into her class.

A new boy was standing in the classroom.

Ambria noticed him sitting by himself. She thought about how he might feel.

Hi my name is Bryce!

Hi my name is Ambria!

Ambria walked over and smiled. “Hi! My name is Ambria. What is your name?” asked. The boy smiled and

said, “My name is Bryce Nice to meet

you!”

Thank you, Ambria!

Bryce was new to the school and he did not know anyone yet. He felt nervous. Ambria remembered how it felt to be somewhere new. Ambria asked, “Would you like to sit with me?” Bryce nodded and smiled.

“Yes, thank you!” Bryce said. He was happy that Ambria was being kind. He followered her to an empty desk near the window.

Their teacher welcomed Bryce and told the class they were happy he had joined them. She asked everyone to be kind.

After the morning lesson, their teacher asked everyone to draw a picture. Ambria and Bryce got out their crayons. Bryce did not have a blue crayon. Ambria shared hers with him.

Bryce began to feel a little more comfortable.

When it was time for lunch, Ambria asked Bryce to walk with her. Ambria introduced Bryce to her friends.

They ask him what games he like to play. He told them he like soccer. He was happy that they wanted to get to know him.

After lunch, the class went outside for recess.
