This story was created as a project during my senior internship courseat Bloomington High School North. I had the wonderful opportunity to
observe during office visits and also a number of tonsillectomies and
other procedures performed by Dr. Johnson. I realized that many
children were nervous about the procedure and decided to write this
story as a way to help them feel more comfortable about the surgery.
Thank you to Dr. Paul Johnson and the staff at ENT Associates
of Southern Indiana for their time and the wealth of information I learned.
I would also like to thank my Internship teacher, Brian Muehlhaus for
his support and guidance during this internship journey.

Rachel. She always had a sore throat.

Rachel seemed to always be sick. She snored when she would sleep, she would wake up
in the middle of the night and even misbehaved.

Rachel's mom, the prettiest queenof the land, was worried that Rachel was
not feeling well and decided to take
her to see a doctor.

As Rachel's mom left the room, a magic genie appeared from nowhere asking her to make a wish.

to see the doctor and I wish I could
be brave." Her wish soon came true.
