There once was a little girl with a big
imagination named Emma. Emma’s favorite
game in the world was pretending to be a great
adventurer with her trusty sidekick, “Boomer”.

Emma and Boomer had been on many
adventures. They had visited with dinosaurs
and even had tea with a queen!

Today Emma and Boomer were going to be pirates and
find pirate treasure.
"Ahoy there Matey" snarled Emma in her best pirate
voice.
"Aarrrg!" responded Boomer. "What be your orders
Captain?"
"Today, we be in search of pirate treasure" said Emma.

Boomer had once told Emma tales of pirates that sailed
the seas hiding and burying treasure on secret islands.
Boomer said "The only way to find a treasure is with a
pirate map."

"Where will we find a map?" Emma asked Boomer. "I
found one in the attic" Boomer said.

"We must becareful. The dreaded Tadpolians rule the
island and no one is sure if they are friendly or not. We
will dock, find the treasure and leave-Got it?" Boomer
asked.
Emma nodded her head yes, "Ay ay Captain!"

Reading the directions to Emma, Boomer said
"Once we land, first we pass island watch tower.
We then take 10 paces right and go around skull rock.
Next is the really tricky part. We must brave the marsh and
take care not to wake the Tadpolians."
"Once we pass their watery marsh we have to tread very
carefully. Many ships have not made it past the sand traps.
Finally, 5 paces east and the treasure is ours!"

Emma and Boomer landed on
the island and set forth on
their way. Emma searched the
area but didn't see the Tadpolians
at the watchtower treehouse.
"It looks like the coast is
clear" said Emma.

Emma and Boomer made their way past the tree house
island watchtower. They then turned right and counted
off 10 steps.
Up through the trees, Emma could see the top of skull
rock.
Boomer could feel Emma begin to tremble with fear.
"Shiver me timbers" whispered Emma nervously.
Boomer licked her arm to reassure her everything was
going to be okay.

Emma tried hard to be brave but the scary stare of the
skull shaped rock scared her. She stopped to really look
at the rock and for a moment, she thought she saw
something move in the eye of the skull.
Boomer mentioned they better hurry. The Tadpolians
probably knew by now there were strangers on the
island and would be looking for them. This made Emma
feel very uneasy.
"I hope they don't find us" thought Emma worriedly.

"Gribbitt...Gribbitt! Yarg, thar be strangers on our
island" shouted Captain Claw.
"Ye reckon they be after our treasure?" asked Mindy
fixing her pink bow.

"Aye lass. We best do what we can to stop them. If we
don't, they might find our hidden falls-the most
legendary of pirate treasures" replied Captain Claw.

Emma and Boomer were quietly walking
through the jungle, careful not to make a
sound worried they might startle the
Tadpolians.
All of a sudden, behind them they heard
"SNAP".

"Did you hear something?" asked Emma, her
voice quivering.
"It was probably just a tree limb falling"
Boomer answered.
He didn't want Emma to be scared. Protecting
her was his job and he wanted her to be brave.
