Once, there was
a knight in
La Mancha...

A long time ago, in a place called
La Mancha, there lived a knight.
His name was Alonso Quijano and
he lived with his niece, the
housekeeper and a servant. He was
                    about fifty years old.
                    He was tall and strong.
                    He liked to get up
                  early and go hunting.
                But his passion was
reading books of adventures. His
two best friends were the master
Nicolas-the town barber- and the
local priest.

Alonso read and read and
       didn't sleep, and he lost
          his mind. Alonso
            believed that he
            was a knight. For this
             reason, he cleaned
             an armor and called
             his horse Rocinante,
            as real knights did.

He thought a name for himself
and the chosen name was Don
                 Quixote de La
                   Mancha. Quixote,
                   similar to his
                   last name, Quijano.
                   De La Mancha,
                   because he lived
                   there.
    "Don Quixote de La Mancha"
    - he shouted. He liked the
       sound of it.

Don Quixote was looking for a
ladylove. Her name was Aldonza
                    Lorenzo. He began
                      to call her Dulcinea
                       del Toboso which
                        was a sweeter
                        sounding name.
                        And without
                       saying a word to
                    anyone, one day
                  Don Quixote mounted
Rocinante and he left his house.
He wanted to live adventures.

It was very hot and he walked all
day, but nothing happened.
                In the evening, he was
                 very tired and hungry.
                 Fortunately, he found
                 an inn. At the door,
                 there were two women
                talking. For Don
                Quixote, they were
                two beautiful ladies,
            and the inn, was a castle
    with towers and silver ornaments.

The innkeeper was a short and
fat man. He was surprised when
                 he saw Don Quixote
                    dressed up with an
                      armor, but he was
                      polite.
                       Don Quixote
                    believed that he was
              the mayor or the manor.
He asked for a place to eat and
sleep. The innkeeper brought
Rocinante to the stable.

Then, the two women helped him
to remove     his armor. He sat at
                     the table and had
                       dinner.
                         -"Never was a
                         knight so well
                         served by high-
                       born ladies-said
                     Don Quixote- as was
                   Don Quixote when he
              came to your town.
    Princesses took care of him and
mayors attended to his horse"
The innkeeper and the two women
started to laugh...

They placed a table near the door
because it was cooler. They served
Don        Quixote codfish and a
piece     of black bread. After having
lunch,    Don Quixote called the
                innkeeper and said:
                "I will not go until your
               lordship gives me his word
              that tomorrow you will
            make me a knight". The
        innkeeper laughed at Don
    Quixote, but promised to do it.
