" The time is always right to do what is right"(
Martian Luther King Jr.) Martian didn't want
people to do violence when protesting. He
was against the way the war was being
fought.
I think that Martian wanted people to realize
that fight was not always the answer. He tried
so hard, and certain people didn't like him for
it. But his legacy lives on till today.

In the '60s we fought for peace, when the Vietnam
war was on. We were against the cops and against
the politicians, and there was a lot of waving
banners and all that. And I think in a way, just as
they were enjoying that machoism of war, we were
enjoying the machismo of being anti-war, you
know?
~Yoko Ono

The truth is that I oppose the Iraq war, just as
I opposed the Vietnam War, because these two
conflicts have weakened the U.S. and
diminished our standing in the world and our
national security.
George McGovern

“ I didn’t serve in the war,but at the time it
sounded like a great idea. When the war was
going on it was not a great idea. Just the way it
ended was not necessary.”
-Leroy See May 2, 2015

We managed to put together a compilation that
had some creativity to it. In the meantime I
was listening to the free radio stations and I
noticed that during their war coverage they
were playing these songs born out of the
Vietnam War that were all critical of the
soldiers.
Joni Mitchell

“Racial injustice around the world. Poverty.
War. When man solves these three great
problems he will have squared his moral
progress with his scientific progress. And more
importantly, he will have learned the practical
art of living in harmony.”
~ Martin Luther King, Jr., “Dreams Of Brighter
Tomorrows”, Ebony, March 1965, p. 35

Suicidal violence is not the exclusive property of
the Muslim world. Suicide bombings were a
tactic of nationalist struggles in 19th-century
Europe and Russia, the far east during the
second world war and the Vietnam war, and in
modern Sri Lanka.
James Buchan

When it came to the Vietnam War, Mr.
McNamara was an early advocate of escalation
but came to realize the flaws in the American
approach earlier than many of his colleagues.
Yet in public, he continued to defend the war.
Samantha Power

When the women's liberation movement began,
when people began protesting against the
Vietnam War, civil rights movement, at the
beginning of those movements, the majority of
the country was not with them, did not believe
in the basic principles of any of those
philosophies.
Michael Moore
