In a small town, nestled snugly next to Lake St. Clair lived an
eager young man, who loved nothing more than to hang out
with his friends. His name was Michael. He was small for his
age compared to his friends, but that never stopped him from
having fun and doing whatever his friends did.
Their daily routine after school was to go to the corner store
for pop and chips. However he had no idea what awaited him
after school the next day when performing his daily routine
with his buddies.

His friend Patrick, had sneaked in his classroom before the
day was over for a quick chat with Michael.
“Are you ready to go to the store after School
today Michael? There’s only one more hour left, I’m so
excited,” said Patrick.
“Yeah I sure am ready! I made sure to ask my mom
for 5 extra dollars for the store today,” said Michael.
“Alright Mikey, I’ll meet you after you get out of
your class, then we’ll meet up with Conor,” replied Patrick.

When Patrick walked away, Michael wanted to double
check and see if his “store money” was still nestled snugly
in his sock. As he peered down to look at his ankle he
noticed a bunched up feeling in that area. He lifted his pant
leg to reach for his high cut sock, that he always kept as
high as they would go up his shins, he unwillingly witnessed
the sight of pure horror. His sock had bunched up at his
ankles and the 5 dollar bill he had in his sock had vanished.
Michael looked all throughout his sock with no success in
finding the lost parcel. He then came to terms with his loss
and came up with a plan. He would just act like he’s not
hungry and lie.

After school Michael met up with Patrick and another one of
their buddies named Connor. “I’m so ready to grab some
snacks, I’ve been going crazy in my head,” snickered Patrick.
“Oh be quiet, I hope Nick doesn’t sell you any
snacks,” replied Connor.
“He will if he wants to make some money haha,”
Michael chimed in.
As they left the school, they were extremely excited
walking to the store. Mike however was hiding how he felt in
his head.
Approaching the store Mike Started to get more
anxious. They walked in, and the dead silence came to an end.

“Hey Nick!” yelled Patrick.
“Hey Nick!” followed up Connor.
Mike however did not say a word. As they ducked
into an aisle, they all three gazed at the assortment of
goodies on the shelves. Connor and Patrick started to
grab what they wanted. Flushed with excitement, they
both proceeded to the counter to pay for their prizes.
Mikey was erupting in a mix of emotions. His one buddy
Patrick notices Mike's demeanor as he turned around after
paying for his snacks. While Connor was jawing away with
Nick, Patrick started to work towards Mike who looked like
he saw a ghost as he gazed at the shelves of delectables,
clearly lost in his head.
“Mike, what’s going on man? You look terrible,”
questioned Patrick.

“I lost my money Patrick,” shamefully said Mike.
“Oh my gosh, are you serious? Okay, okay. I have a plan.
Connor and I already spend all of our money. So just grab what
you want and put it in my bag. He won’t see, Connors talking his
ear off right now,” schemed Patrick.
Mike immediately thought about it. Two things came to
mind. One, should I just do it? We buy snacks everyday he
shouldn’t mind. Or Two, No, that’s stealing and that’s not right. I
wouldn’t want someone to do that to me. After thinking it over
for what seemed like a millennium, his hunger got the best of him,
and he decided to pick option one. Patrick opened up his bag
which only contained a bottle of Pepsi, and a bag of Doritos.
Michael proceeded throw a bag of potato chips and a can of pop
in Patricks bag. Without knowing it, Nick had seen it all while
appearing to be occupied talking to Connor.
